Whether people watch this farcical tv drama or not doesn't mean a thing.

We'll find out in November what the people REALLY think when they get the opportunity to speak.

Based on the drubbing the Dems have seen thus far in the primaries, it doesn't look good...

What happens in the Supreme Court will probably have a bigger impact on November's mid terms.

Is that why they tried to Clintonize Justice Kavanaugh a few days ago?

So, when are we impeaching Biden?

If the Republicans take control of the House in November, it's almost certain.
If they also win the Senate, it's a done deal.

I think they'd need 60 votes in the Senate... that is a very high bar

True.
But they impeached Trump twice on bullshit charges.

If the House Republicans bring a REAL case for impeachment, I think at least a few Senate Dems will think long and hard about answering to their constituencies if they ignore it.

It will only take a handful of 'first woman President' Dems to make it happen.

I'm pretty sure the Senate needs 67 votes for an impeachment.

What bothers me the most is the seeming reality that this court has abandoned the idea of precedent being a cornerstone of the western legal system. I'm not a fan of ghost courts either, it smells precisely the same as how law is handled in dictatorships.

My earlier statement about the Senate's affect on the midterms is that Roe V Wade may very well be a pivot issue that Democrats rally around. Remember, there are a lot more Democrats that Republicans out there and a clear majority of Americans believe in a woman's right to choose. It might ultimately be a bigger issue than inflation come election time.

Btw I do believe that abortion with sensible limits should be legal and I am not personally affected by high gas prices or inflation in general. If my financial situation changes dramatically I may change my mind.

The Dred Scot decision was precedent.
Did that make it right?
It wasn't overturned by the Court itself, but it was effectively overturned by the 14th Amendment.

But that doesn't mean precedents haven't been overturned.
True, it is rare, less than 1% of SCOTUS decisions have been reversed, but it does happen.
(I believe I read somewhere that it's around 145 out of 25K SCOTUS decisions have been reversed.)

And of course, Brown v. Board of Education reversed the Plessy v. Ferguson decision as it applied to school segregation.
So yeah, the Court has reversed itself in the past to correct its own mistakes.

We don't get to pick and choose, so if the SCOTUS overturns Roe and sends it back to the states, then each state legislature will have to get off their collective asses and do their job.
Which btw if they had done in the first place, the SCOTUS would never have legislated from the bench.

Do you have a 401k or an IRA for your retirement?
If so, your financial situation has changed dramatically whether you realize it or not.
