Won't regenerate my stock model with keyseat cutters being used to back bore/undercut...unless I set it to Mill flute only, which of course blows the hole out as it doesn't show the undercut

I put 2023 on the back burner.  I refuse to use it for production work right now.  I've played with it a little and haven't cared for it. Part of my reasoning is just not knowing how to use some of the new workflow. The rest is bugs not caring for some of the graphic changes. My eyes are super bad now and they're damaged retina bad so glasses don't help here. The new tool graphics I can barely see and I can't figure out what to click on when I'm trying to filter tools.

I may either wait for 2024, or at minimum, wait until they've released some patches for 2023.

Pretty much the same for me. I'm still using 2022 for 99% of my work.
The core of the workflow is a complete mess, why it was still implemented in this release is beyond me.

We never used 2022.....once my Boss comes across a couple of these, I can see him saying stay on 2021 for now..

Here's Johnny!

Still using MC2019....it is stable for the most part. I was going to upgrade to 2022 then thought wait for 2023...might wait for 2024!!!! ;D

Mc2022 is great, Mc2021 was good too, Mc2020 I got a lot of bad feedback from everyone on my Team at the Time..

2022 still has some annoying bugs but I've learned to work around them. Most are just minor annoyances.  Things like clearance planes not matching up between drilling cycles and milling cycles. Have to pay close attention or get bit.

Over all, I'm pretty happy with 2022.

Those aren't bugs, those are features.
How about the one that I deal with many times per day? Sorting a bolt pattern when selecting holes for drilling?
It is NEVER efficient. Even when I select point sorting and re-do it. It will still be some zig-zag pattern for successive toolpaths. I've brought this issue up to them multiple times. It still exists.

Some of these bugs have existed for years. They just deem it not important enough to work on and toss it on the back burner.
If I had 3 years to make a part, and couldn't get it right, what are the chances I'd still have my job? Would I just tell my customer that it's not important enough for me to fix right now and I don't know when I'll get to it?

Point sorting isn't perfect, and I'm not asking for perfection but god damn at least have some pride and make it efficient and remember the sorting method from toolpath to toolpath WITH THE EXACT SAME HOLE SELECTION!

Something I do dozens of times per day, 5 days per week for years, doesn't work like it should. So in case anyone is wondering where my frustration is coming from, that's where.

I've had an issue with solid contour selection sorting.  It seems to decide for me which order it wants to machine multiple contours in and I end up having to sort them manually. The sort functions have no affect on it. That one, to me, is one of the most annoying 'features'  I've had to deal with.

It doesn't matter if it's a solid contour selection. It does this in wireframe as well. There are many, many times when I select a bunch of contours to machine (all in a single row pattern). It will NOT machine them in the same order as I picked them.

Drilling holes in a line? Forget about it. It might work, and then it might drill the 1st hole, then the last, then the 2nd then the 3rd. Yeah that one gets me.
Efficiency? pffft.

are you picking solid holes in mastercam built solid models
In earlier releases it would drill them in the order created.
however
hole sorting is in desperate need of a rework.
Procad 97 handled hole sorting better than any version of Mastercam

I do both. I create my own solids, and I also import a lot of customer .STP files.

I'll keep an eye out when sorting both types.
Thanks!

MC-4 did the best Mastercam drill point sorting. If you missed a hole or wanted to rearrange the holes you would just grab the path line between the holes you wanted to insert the point and drag the line to the point.
