Exactly. Having all in one, is like the guy machining the part, then being the line inspector checking the finished part :)

At Safran, I wrote a module in Mastercam that created a toolpath, then a separate module to check for mistakes, then there was a stand alone application that would parse the nc code for mistakes or issues, but vericut at the end or something similar would have been very nice, but it's very expensive, and it's hard to see the value, until some big scrap happens..

It's not expensive when you consider the cost of a machine spindle. Especially when you're talking 5x or 3+2.

i have downloaded 2023 but have not installed. do you have to use MSG or does verify still work?

also downloaded and installed Cimcoedit 2022, has the darkscreen mode but the backplot is cumbersome now.
you used to be able to backplot a section of your program which now you can nolonger do (unless i'm missing it) also the tools are no longer remembered if you backplot, then get out and backplot again.

anyone else played with Cimco 2022?

You can use verify and backplot still, but if you don't use the MGS, then you won't be able to name your group, choose your material, then choose your material 13 more times because it keeps losing track of what you chose, change the post, etc..

If you do use custom planes, watch the few mins at 12:00 in this vid...

There was a post made over in the official forums, but to just repeat it here, there are some MGS fixes coming in Update 1 soon for the inadvertent stock plane transformation and issues with bounding box display location.
