Parler is an alternative to Twitter... the only real difference being, Parler refuses to censor people.

That means all sides of a political debate can be heard.

In a coordinated effort... Google and Apple removed the Parler app from their platforms... but that wasn't enough.

Parler could have still been reached on the internet itself... so the racketeering had to go up another level.

Parler was paying Amazon for its server storage... so Amazon coordinated to give Parler 24 hours to remove their data... and now... Amazon has delivered the final blow... and Parler has been completely scrubbed from the internet.

A coordinated racketeering play to destroy a competitive business that surely would have been a billion dollar company.

I love free markets.

Parler was the epitome of that.

Censorship of free speech is at an all-time high... and Parler was making a move to open the market up and provide the sorely needed free speech... but they were targeted and ended.

The remedy?

The courts.

In a free society, the rule of law is essential.

I hope companies that involved themselves in the willful coordination of unfair free market business practices have deep pockets... because Parler will see them in court... I'm sure of that... and when this plays out... Parler will be back... with a valuable lesson learned to set up their own infrastructure... and through lawsuits... with more capital than ever.

As I don't use Parler, it not being there is inconsequential to me.

The method of their removal is of grave concern. Their removal was nothing less than a coordinated attack.

"The remedy?"

Own your own servers.

Definitely a 'wake-up call' for companies which depend on the services of the four horsemen of big tech.

Then what happens when the ISPs are able to block your site?

Same here.
Anyone who takes this with a grain of salt just isn't paying attention.

More intolerance from the supposedly tolerant left.
And it's only going to get worse...

This is nothing less than collusion. It is alarming to say the least.

Twitter Suspends Judicial Watch

QuoteFitton said he was locked out of his account for posting "#Hydroxychloroquine is a safe drug," a topic he has been posting on since September. He said at that time, Twitter "specifically found that it was not in violate [sic] of its rules" but has now decided to take action against the account.

"I have 'appealed' but we all know, given this background, that this is not about HCQ, it is about finding a pretext to silence another leading conservative voice," Fitton said in a statement on Parler.

Big Tech is getting really bold about crushing conservative voices because they know a Biden admin will do nothing
to stop them
Eventually challenges to this fascist behavior will reach the Supreme Court

Even the ACLU is questioning this and I'm guessing that they don't have many parler frequenters.

ACLU voices concern about 'unchecked power' by Big Tech after Twitter permanently bans Trump

Quote'...companies like Facebook and Twitter wield the unchecked power to remove people from platforms that have become indispensable for the speech of billions'

Even the American Civil Liberties Union is sounding the alarm about Big Tech removing President Donald Trump's accounts from its various platforms.

What is the ACLU saying?

The civil rights organization, which often fights against conservative causes, released a statement Friday expressing concern that the movement to deplatform Trump could be a slippery slope with eventual unintended consequences, especially for minority groups.

ACLU senior legislative counsel Kate Ruane said in a statement:

For months, President Trump has been using social media platforms to seed doubt about the results of the election and to undermine the will of voters. We understand the desire to permanently suspend him now, but it should concern everyone when companies like Facebook and Twitter wield the unchecked power to remove people from platforms that have become indispensable for the speech of billions — especially when political realities make those decisions easier.

President Trump can turn to his press team or Fox News to communicate with the public, but others — like the many Black, Brown, and LGBTQ activists who have been censored by social media companies — will not have that luxury. It is our hope that these companies will apply their rules transparently to everyone.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

You guys seem to miss the REASON that Parler was removed: the uncensored calls for violence and violenting overthrowing the incoming Biden administration. I'm all for free speech, but it is not an absolute freedom. SCOTUS has made clear that our rights don't allow us to transgress other's safety. The old 'we can't cry fire in an a theatre' is typically stated. Parler refused to moderate those calling for violent removal of any and all who stood in Trump's way for a 2nd term (including Pence and McConnell)is the only reason they were removed, not all the half-baked conspiracy theories being promulgated on it. And I'm tired of people playing "what violence? I didn't see any calls for violence?" Ignorance isn't an excuse. I've seen plenty of screen shots and I have family members who have gone onto Parler and been spouting the rhetoric. So claim ignorance, but I'm not buying it.

this is an exercise in unchecked raw political power
"Hang Pence" has been trending unchecked on Twitter for several days.. shouldn't calls for the murder of a sitting Vice President be censored ??
It seems only conservatives are being censored here

It appears that Parler had a pretty standard TOS that includes things like "no hate speech".

I have relatives on Facebook that are constantly saying things like "Trump should be assassinated" and it's not moderated because it's never reported.  Should Facebook lose all access to the internet for not moderating those posts?  You can look up some of the nonsense that is allowed to trend on twitter. They aren't facing the same consequences that Parler is.

There seems to be a HUGE double standard here.
