One of the manual machinists at work wants to learn how to use MC. What's the free learning version called these days? I assume I can get it from our reseller?

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Says you can use it for a year. Any idea what happens then?

It just won't run

Anyone know if you can just uninstall and re-download/activate for another year?

Yep- after a year you can simply go through the download process again and install the newest HLE version and reactivate and continue on.

Is CNC Software able to reactivate my HLE version because I've sent my reseller an email about a week ago and crickets.

What version is it?
HLE editions are good for about a year.
I don't think HLE's can be reactivated. Once they are dead, that's it

It's the 2022 version that has expired. I installed the 2023 version and it wants an activation code. Sent an email to my reseller and haven't heard a peep from them which is unusual. I'm too lazy and busy to call them.
I remember doing this a year ago, vaguely.

The older HLE's expire after a year and can't be reactivated. To get your activation code, you should have seen it under the STEP 2 balloon on the website. No need to contact your reseller. Just jump back to mastercam.com, login, and then go back to the "Download HLE" page. There's where you'll see any license numbers, activation codes, and their status for any products that exist under your login.

Yes but that page says it expires Aug 3 2022.
This is for a computer not connected to the internet if that makes any difference.

As Pete mentioned on the Mastercam forums on that duplicate thread, we had some discussions on it this morning. There's a website flow issue preventing you from getting to the generate license page after the first license.
