Quote from: YoDoug on August 16, 2022, 06:46 AMI am half expecting a Dominion/Detroit 2020 election style, late night win for Cheney. She is so connected to the Biden regime and the globalist uni-party cabal that orchestrated the 2020 steal that I would be surprised if they don't try something in her primary.
Could happen
I've read that Cheney sent out offial looking regeristration forms to registered Dem voters and  about 20K Dems have reregistered as Republicans to vote for her
Wyoming is a small state, 20K might be enough to swing it.
Sure hope not.
I'm hoping for a blowout so bad they call it 30 seonds after the polls close

Quote from: gcode on August 16, 2022, 05:52 AMThe great state of Wyoming

That might be the first time I've ever heard that phrase.  :D  I lived in Wyoming. I don't remember anything being great about it.

I went and visited my grandma in Sheridan back in about 2010. The town was a shell of what I remembered. It was mostly trashed and full of drug addicts.  They did still have drive up windows at bars though.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

that seems to be a common factor in most of rural America these days
I suspect Wyoming is particularly hard hit as coal oil gas and beef are the main employers in the state
and FJB it doing his level best to destroy those industries.
About the only jobs left are cleaning the 1% er's vacation homes

Liz is a bigger shitbird than her dad... and I have loathed him since he canceled the SR-71 program. Then when I found out "he had other things planned" instead of going to Vietnam, I count him as bad or worse than McNamara.

Quote from: Newbeeee™ on August 16, 2022, 09:37 AMI guess the Halliburton shares must have given far better return than the Lockheed shares....
The Air Force hated the SR-71 too. All the other branches got to use her and didn't have to pay the bill. At roughly $200,000 per flight hour a mission could cost a boatload of money. Plus 500 maintenance hours per flight hour.

Would she still be a viable operating platform today? With all the drones we have, long loiter capability, satellites? Probably not. However adjusting the geosync orbit of a satellite can take a LOT of time and if you need to see something NOW... it can be a challenge.

Still... she was a badass bird that could fly the globe at will. Leave Beale AFB just after breakfast, overfly China and be back in time for dinner to ask the wife how her day was.

They've called it
65/32 with 15% of the vote counted.
That lead should exceed the margin for fraud

SR-71+ speed is expensive AF though.

Yes.. and the USSR pissed away billions trying to shoot one down.

Early one morning in 1978 I was on the rifle range at Camp Schwab, Okinawa
and an SR-71 flew over on it's way to landing at Kadena Air Forces base.
It was quite a sight.

Cheney should run as an independent. She'd probably do very well with moderate Republicans (so few of them!) and independents. Democrats would likely vote for her to keep a nutjob election denier out of office.

why would dems switch their vote from dem to an independent Republican to prevent a republican from winning? that doesn't make any sense.

Also I'm not sure I really believe in independent voters. If they exist there's not enough of them to count on, but I've seen all of the "Independent Voters" focus groups featured during presidential debates and they always seem to be "Independently Leftists"
