My sister and her husband had 300 head of cattle and somewhere around the same for pigs. Couldn't compete with american prices without expanding and  industrializing, and didn't want to try switching to organic - knew other farms that paid out the nose and failed.

Either way was a much bigger pain/cost than using the land to grow sugar beet and soy for america/china.

Blasphemy!

If you've ever had an A&W hot dog, you've had a Koegel Vienna.

Isn't that what women do to tighten their :sofa:

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

On vacation. Got to the house in Maine Sunday afternoon. Thursday morning first morning we can see the next hill. Been raining on and off for 3 days. On the plus side Monday was crappy so we went to the casino. Won a little over $1,300. Paid for a nice chunk of vacation. 😁

LOL, if you are ok with eating hot dogs don't waste your money buying organic beef.

These aren't your normal hot dogs, these are Koegel Viennas with the skin on. :P
Have you never had an A&W coney dog before you went vegan or whatever? You're missing out!

I believe they also make the coney sauce for the American Coney Island dogs Flint Style.

Is that the one made with lead relish?

The meat market I go to makes their own hotdogs without the added crap. They also make around a dozen different sausages/brats.

I'll be honest, the thing I miss most is a good brat or spicy Italian. I think this past summer is the first in my adult life that I didn't grill brats at least once.

lol probably.
But Flint style is the dry, loose style, Detroit style is more like a wet coney sauce.

I'm surprised it doesn't come with a free stabbing knife!

Too bad for me they use wheat gluten as a primary ingredient.

My parents went to the same butcher store my entire life, and it wasn't until I moved to 4 or 5 different cities that I realized they had the best butcher shop anywhere.  I miss the porketta from there there most

I'm not a huge fan of the fake meat products. While they are better for you than meat, they are still high in saturated fats and a lot of processed ingredients and chemicals. I do normally keep a bag of Impossible nuggets or meatballs in the freezer and when I need a quick simple meal I eat those. Typically I like to get my proteins from beans, soy, or lentils. I add chicpeas or edamame to a lot of dishes I make.
