QuoteThe firearms industry had its best year ever as concerns over safety due to the coronavirus crisis, and political battles drove a 60% spike, according to the leading gun trade group.

In its final analysis of FBI background checks, the National Shooting Sports Foundation estimated gun sales at about 21 million, a huge 34% jump over the previous record set in 2016, another year where politics helped to drive sales.

Unique to last year was the surge in sales to first-time gun buyers, women, and blacks.

The group's analysis said, "8.4 million people bought a firearm for the first time in 2020. That's 40% of all purchases. This year's buyer is increasingly diverse too. Forty percent of 2020's buyers were women and the biggest increase of any demographic category was among African Americans, who bought guns at a rate of 58% greater than in 2019."

We have a new product called ArmsReach. I've designed two now using SolidWorks sheet metal. The first console lock box has been here for a little over a year. The second model arriving in a couple weeks.

At first, they delayed the 2nd one. I put a LOT of work into designing it. Sales were slow on the 1st one, like 1 sold! lol

I was disappointed because they're fun, challenging designs.

Then something happened. Sales started picking up. Now they're booming! So, I got back on the 2nd design and finished it up and sent it out for sheet metal fabrication.

They sit in the consoles of trucks (may do cars, too, down the road. Not 100% sure). The name implies firearm storage, but they can be used to lock whatever. Money, etc. Yet, the name is what got sales starting.

I'll be starting another model design shortly.....

I did a google search. It shows our ArmsReach console lock vaults (Dawn Enterprises). As I said, I just did two. Only one model being sold now. With sales picking up, I'll be busy making newer designs.

Good for you, Dan!
I hope they keep selling.

Funny this thread comes up today.
Just yesterday a friend of mine from church called me to ask my advice on purchasing his first handgun.

People are waking up to the fact that our rights are slowly eroding, and that law and order is under attack.
Everyone said Obama was the best salesman for the gun industry, and I think Biden / Harris will top him easily.

Where  are all the gun manufacturers located.

I'm not aware of even one. Seems it would be a good job for our trade.

The Northeast was the traditional area but as the states in the Northeast passed ever more stringent gun laws
most of then have moved to more 2A friendly states. There are still a lot left in the Northeast though
The popularity of the AR-15 platform as created hundreds, maybe even thousands of small specialized manufacturers
building AR type rifles, pistols and custom parts.
You can even buy a dedicated CNC machine that does nothing but machine AR lowers from raw casting.
It's about the size a microwave oven.
If Biden/Harris succeed in banning "assault rifles", it will bankrupt hundreds of small businesses and put
2 to 3 hundred thousand people out of work.

NH has several...Sig Sauer, Q, Ruger & several smaller niche manufacturers...I know I'm missing another larger too
We(NH) are the last "gun friendly" state in the northeast

Tons of mfg's in the intermountain west. Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona.
Some big names like Browning, Ruger & Weatherby. Literally countless smaller mfg's (say under 5000 units/yr)
