Not sure what day this happened.  I only drive this truck on weekends. It mostly sits parked.

Looks like someone drove through our little gated community and nabbed anything high enough to easily crawl under.

Luckily it's covered and should only cost me the deductible to have repaired.

Anyone know how to rig an exploding bad of dog shit for the next time?   :D

Yup, this morning on the radio they were saying the county sheriff for Ramsey Co (St.Paul metro Co.) is warning that there is a sharp increase in car jackings where the suspects bump into the target car at a light, then car jack them. They said your car, purse, phone is not worth it and that you shouldn't fight back. crime is out of control, yet the MN just supposedly voted to give full control of the state to the Dems.

Here in Washington State, they passed a bill that prevents the police from chasing someone down even if they were seen committing the crime.  If the crime isn't violent or a felony, the police can't pursue.

Basically, unless you want to protect your own property, your f'd.  If you call the police they wont even come to check it out. They tell you to fill out a report online or they'll take the report over the phone.

QuoteSNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Last year's passage of House Bill 1054 restricts when police can pursue a suspect in a vehicle.

With the law in place, police have approached suspected criminals who then speed away knowing there's nothing the police can do. According to authorities, it is an all too common occurrence.

"It's frustrating for our officers," said Marysville Police Chief Erik Scairpon. "It's also frustrating for the community."

They can only chase someone if there is probable cause to believe the person is either impaired, an escaped felon or has committed a violent or sexual crime.

I wouldn't expect the police or DA to back you up if you use a gun to protect yourself against a group of carjackers here.

Yup, here in LaLa Land, if you hurt someone protecting your property, you're going to prison
If you need a police report, you can do it on line or at the station in person
About all the cops do here is show up to haul the bodies off, yet the people of LaLa Land
voted to maintain the status quo at a 70/30 margin. Expecting anything to change here is pretty much
hopeless.

Yep, this happened to me with our band van. Because it's our band van worth $4k and we rarely drive it, I had a high deductible policy... jerks.

You can protect your property here *but* it has to fall under certain criteria. You could end up in jail if you run out guns a blazing. This isn't Texas. :D

It's not a lot better here and getting worse every year.

I don't think it's legal anywhere to kill someone over a property crime if no lives are in danger.

Washington State has been mostly run by Democrats for the last 50 years.  There was a time that they weren't so criminal friendly here. This has developed over the last 5 years or so.

If you're talking about car chases, I think they're restricted most places. They are in KC. There are just too much collateral damage.
