I did over my daughters room downstairs. Added in a couple of closets and some built in drawers. Had a friend who is a carpenter do all the carpentry. I did all the demolition. Little bit of wiring, plastering and painting. Saved easily $10k-$20k. No permits and I sure as shit am not letting them downstairs.

The part that really pisses you off is you spend $50k-$100k and you can't write any of it off. Then they want to raise your taxes. They're going to get you coming and going.

People that don't live in the "blue" states have no idea how expensive they make it. The biggest threat to the middle class is not that Bezo"s and Musk are billionaires. It's the never ending reach deeper and deeper into our pockets. The Democrats and to a degree the Republicans could give 2 shits about the working middle class.

Example: When Trump passed his tax package the left went nuts. Especially about the SALT cap. They cried it's only to punish the blue high tax states. Well they've been in power for years now and nothing. Matter of fact when asked about it AOC that brilliant POS said it favored the rich. Well if she could do a little simple math it would prove she is wrong. But being dumb as a box of rocks, like most politicians, simple math is probably beyond her.

Actually AOC and a few others shit on it not Manchin. There were even a few Republicans that voted for the repeal. The part that gets me is they say it will only benefit the rich. Well my wife and I combined make less that she does so I guess that makes her super rich and she should pay taxes in the highest bracket.

They may have shit on it publicly and possibly after the fact, but Manchin was the reason that it was removed from the bill. Shumer ran on his guarantee to repeal that part of Trumps tax bill.

Anyone who owns a home is considered rich to progressives.    A little hyperbole, but not too far off.

The firebrand freshman congresswoman from the Bronx and Queens, better known as AOC, split with her party on Thursday and voted against a bill that would repeal part of President Trump's signature tax legislation.

The self-described socialist voted against removing the SALT cap, which would give working-class citizens in high-tax states like New York and New Jersey a break on state and local dues.

The bill — which will likely be dead on arrival when it hits the Senate — narrowly passed the House, 218-206.

The only reason I remember is that it affects me and she made the statement that it's a break for the rich. Just shows how clueless most of our politicians are to the private sector.
