What tunes are you listening to right now, while you work?

I really enjoy seeing/hearing what other folks here are listening to, as well-something as subjective as music is a nice counterpoint to the much more *objective* reality of the sort of work us folks do every day. There's not nearly as much latitude with that-the parts pass or they don't. (Plenty of room for creativity in one's processes, but it's much more constrained in the physical world...oh well).

Do you ever listen to anything that isn't eclectic oddities for music?

Of course! (I don't expect you to believe this, but yes....it's true).

In no particular order:

Allman Brothers (wow-"Live at Fillmore East" and "Eat a Peach" are long time favorites!)
Steely Dan
The Cars
The Tubes
Roy Buchanan (not sure if he qualifies or if it's just getting into weirdo territory)
Butterfield Blues Band (both with and without Mike Bloomfield on gtr)
Joy Division (again-might not qualify...?)
New Order (reconstituted Joy Division after Ian Curtis checked out early-ahem)
Roxy Music
Chet Atkins (check out "Chester & Lester" w/ Les Paul, or "Standard Brands" w/Lenny Breau....fingerpicking madness)
Danny Gatton (he's probably got one foot planted squarely over the line dividing "weirdo" from "non-weirdo", which makes it even more interesting IMHO).
Tons of The Who and Led Zeppelin in HS....
Cat Stevens
James Brown
Bill Doggett
Jaco P (again....maybe in maybe out)
Average White Band
Neil Young
Joni Mitchell
Pink Floyd
Jean-Luc Ponty (especially w/AH-probably DQ'd for that reason alone)
Rush

When I think about the stuff I've been drawn to in the last 10 years or so, it seems to skew heavily towards improvised/instrumental stuff, mostly guitar for some reason, and vocals are often but not always a turnoff (embarrassed that I can't say why-major exception for Joni Mitchell of course).

So yeah, I guess that explains the jazz fusion rabbit hole that I can't seem to crawl out of lately. There's just so much going on (usually at once).
