He's no longer the left's "Electric Jesus", He is now the right's "Free Speech Savior". Evidentially you can't be both simultaneously.

Not specifically but I'm not aware of a legitimate rash of such. Open to non bullshit sources.
Point was this paid-for FUD campaign of the standard ol tropes of a gazillion gallons to extinguish exploding new scary technology is just old fake news.

My son was involved in a rescue of Tesla model S occupants in new Hampshire a couple years ago. Stupid car has hidden door handles and the glass can't be broke with an average tire iron.
My son had to send a BFH  across the street to actually break the glass.
That car burnt to a shell, just like a gas car would.
Amazing part was that sliding into a tree sideways took the front of the vehicle completely off. But the passenger compartment was very intact. Try that on a domestic or Japanese brand.
Tesla are unequivocally safe.... except for the idiotic door handles.

He's an African-American. They can't touch him. That would be raycis.

We had a wreck on my freeway exit in the rain this weekend
A minor wreck on the freeway ... a firetruck parked on the side of the road.
a brand new 6 series BMW hit a puddle and skidded sideways in the read bumper of the firetruck
killing the driver

Damn, sorry to see.

Check this video at 1:21. It's about the exact scenario. Looks reasonably survivable. But 10mph might be all the difference??

Gotta love people who cheer on millions of illegal immigrants flooding our southern border suddenly caring about the immigration status of a successful businessman.

People typically drive 70 to 80 mph on that stretch of road and maybe slow to 60 in the rain.
The road is full of low spots. You hit a 3" deep puddle at 60 with one wheel, you'll be sideways in a heartbeat

Pansies.
I used to do 70 in a white-out blizzard. Never wrecked, either.

Just don't count 2 wheelers.
Or other wrecks that were others fault

.
Or that time it was my fault.

OK.

Japanese cars routinely form the majority on yearly 'safest cars' lists.

As for domestic, they usually only rate if it's a large SUV, so fair enough.

Not a dig on Telsa, they are proving to be very safe as well. But I doubt I'd fair any better in one than my wife's Lexus RX350 in a wreck.

We had heavy rain last weekend.
With a years worth of road oil on the freeway + all the drainage systems blocked from a couple of years of no use
the freeways were flooded slip-n-slides this weekend.
I saw 4 wrecks on the 12 mile drive from town to my offramp Saturday afternoon and 2 lanes flooded over three feet deep in one section.
If I hadn't gotten backed up by a minor wreck further west, I'd have been right in the middle of that fatality on my exit ramp
Idiots were still driving 70 to 80 through it all. I suspect the driver of that BMW would still be alive if his speed had been
appropriate for the conditions

Del.

People can't drive anymore around here. I expect to read about a rollover in the driveway anytime now.
