Yup, the left media is out there crying about how democracy will come to an end if the R's don't line up and vote for McCarthy. Funny though, democracy survived over two months and over a hundred votes in the past. As usual, just more gaslighting to keep their ignorant readers emotionally triggered.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I don't think Trump would want the job, but that would definitely be a hoot!

Again, it is up to the House membership to decide upon their own leadership, so we will need to wait for them to sort it out.

Jim Jordan wants to chair the Judiciary Committee even though he received a few votes for Speaker.

He definitely wouldn't cave to any of the concessions that McCarthy has.

You have to wonder about motives for support for McCarthy from those that have previously been critical of him. Trump has called him weak many times before. I would have to guess that Trump sees it unlikely that anyone else would get the speakership nod and he wants to play nice with the party establishment for his 2024 aspirations. I have to wonder the same for MTG. Was she told if she throws in for McCarthy she will get full party support in the next election or has she been promised a committee leadership position in a back room deal? One thing is for sure, the swamp is going swamp always and the voters most likely will never know what deals were made in the back rooms.

Yup.
Better the devil you know, which is what McCarthy is.

There are definitely back-room deals being negotiated, probably even as we speak.
I'm sure MTG and others have been promised plumb committee chairs, which are the currency the Speaker has control to dispense, no matter which party holds the majority.

Kevin McCarthy embodies everything that is wrong with the Repubkican party.

He is utterly unprincipled...this is about him believing he's the "next person up" and not about what's best for the country, government or party.

Pelosi/Dems stripped her of committee assignments in 2021. Essentially the same, but I think McCarthy promised her something rather than threatening to take away something she doesn't have now.
