I received an email (In my spam folder), that read.

Good day my dear friend, I apologize for approaching you in this manner, but I have a proposal for you.  I'm Nelson Scoot, a First Lieutenant of the US Army (40th Combat Aviation Brigade) UH-60 Black Hawk Battalion currently active here in Al-Tanf Garrison, Syria, However, I have been serving in Syria for the past 16 months as part of my mission.  I have $16.4 million USD that I recover from this place and I want to know if you are willing to help me keep it under your custody until I complete my duty here.  I am seeking you help now because I have also discovered a way to moving this money out of Syria which is through a delivery service that delivers food to this refugee camp.

I am going to offer you 40% of the total amount which is $6,560.00 USD will be your share and you are free to take it out as soon as the money arrive to you.  If you're interested in my offer, kindly respond to my email and we will proceed with the delivery plan.
Thanks,
(F.LT) Nelson Scott

Anyone want in on this?? ;)  ;)

I also listed an item on Craigslist Portland, OR for $400.  I specified that it was to be picked up at my home, so ONLY LOCAL people should reply.

I received a response from someone in Maryland.

It said, I need this.  Thanks for returning my message.  I'm currently not in town for now, so I won't be able to meet with you due to my work frame and also, we are very busy at this time preparing for our daughter's wedding but I'm okay with the price and condition as shown on the advert.  I'' proceed in issuing a cashier's check to you and when you receive the payment and it clears your bank, I will make arrangements for the pick-up.  I will also add an additional $50 to hold it down for me.  So, get back to me with the details below to mail the check out to you asap...

Name to be on the payment.....
Address to mail the check to...
City, state and Zip code....NOT P.O BOX
Final Asking price....
Phone number to text you on.

Hmmmm.... ::)  ::)

You need to be VERY CAREFULL these days!! Or you will get BURNED! :flame:

I haven't seen one of those in a while.

I figured all of the scammers have moved on to "I took over your computers web cam and got video of you pleasuring yourself to porn. I won't email it to all of your friends if you send me x amount of dollars in crypto".  :D

Even if it was real, it would most likely be a massive crime being committed. It reads like he has stolen money that he wants to smuggle out of the country using a food service company. No one planning this type of crime would just start emailing random people to ask them to help. These types of people pray on the weakest of society. They deserve the worst of the worst retribution.

My 22 yo autistic son has fallen for the online spams to get a brand new video game, that sells for $70 in stores, for like $10-$20 bucks. Luckily for him when they went to clean out his bank account he only had about $50 in it. Since that happened he now asks me before making any online purchases and even before clicking on any links that he gets in random texts or emails.

A real first lieutenant would know it's 1LT, not F.LT.

I noticed that too.

A real Army 1LT also knows how to spell his own name correctly...
