I'm not sure but it was a little before V9 went to X. What year was that?

April 2001 for me. Emastercam.com was a big selling point for Mastercam in the classes.

There was a ton of knowledge to be found there and it's still helpful.

I believe you are correct, James. For grins, I did a whois lookup. The name was registered on 11-15-99. I was member 2375. Then they changed the forum software, purged people who hadn't logged in in years, and my number changed to who knows what.

Quote from: CNCAppsJames on March 08, 2023, 01:56 PMI've had I think 3 accounts. I don't recall the reasoning behind my 1st departure. The 2nd Departure I remember very well. Frigging Daniell handed me a suspension because someone was asking about "online" training amd I referred them to Streaming Teacher and  eApprentice I believe. I was completely unaware of IHS's offerings at the time so they suspended me and I told Danielle to pound sand and delete my account. I'd committed FAR more egregious sins than that without so much as a warning. To suspend me for that was completely chicken shit.

I had the screenshots to prove every word I am saying. I captured them because I knew nobody would believe me. I think I stayed away for 2 full years. I came back because I was asked by a number of customers so I relented.

I remember that.  ;D

That Larry Smith person is a moron if he(or is it she?) couldn't figure out internal sharp corners in a surface...

Some of us prefer the pronoun External. Math and science be damned!

So they finally realized you were giving them a metric tape measure?

Nope!! I had one o' those lil four inch rulers that they used to give away at Westec.

I just let them assume it was a six inch . ;D

Quote from: neurosis on March 08, 2023, 08:55 AMYou probably don't remember this far back, but you were the one who told me about the forum.

They have you to thank for all of my nonsense.  :D

I vaguely remember talking to you about the forum. Man, times have changed. I went from an enduser, to tech support and post processor person. Even got to visit the mountain top, mist shrouded, mysterious castle in Tolland, and met the Malachi twins. Rode around the castle on a Segway, and felt on top of the world. Then, sometime later, flushed like a stray turd into the porcelain.

Now, Mastercam is almost a distant memory. But I made some good friends out of the experience :)
