Del.

Insurers are totaling out low mileage EV's when batteries are damaged or may be damaged from accidents.  Many EV batteries are not accessible especially Teslas and others won't release battery data so insurance won't repair batteries due to liabilities. So these batteries are stacking up even now with no way to dispose of.  Doesn't seem worth the effort to me.

Way back in the day Del was a rabid liberal
but the Obama years and 20 years exposure to the right wing lunatics on eMC
bought him to the light.

The real Bitch is they always use those little Tiny screws to close the cover and a butter knife is too Big.

Soo then you use a steak knife and you just end up Buggering the head of the screw ,Soo now even a regular Phillips won't work.

Soo Yeah I can understand them just throwing them out. :)

There is a point where people take what you let them have.

and then they keep Taking.

And Then you say "Enough"

If you came to my door I would welcome you and help.

What you do from that point.

I would either kick you out, or Help you more.

Common Sense.

Just when I thought I thought of every negative there was against EV's... I learn something else.

That's a pretty heavy negative.

living in a state with 27,000,000 licensed drivers and the number of people driving without insurance is nearly 10% of them... Lotta chances to end up on the bad end of that deal.

Good info, Del. Learned something new.

Some of those EV's are lightening fast. The Kia EV6 GT (very difficult to get in the U.S. now, only like around 2,500 available...although the standard version EV6 are plentiful and also pretty darn fast, under 5 sec. 0 to 60)

Back to the Kia EV6 GT... sticker (MSRP) like 61K but due to limited availability it would cost around 75K. 0 to 60 in 3.4 sec (although some sites claim they got it at 3.2 sec when testing). There's a limiter which maxes out top speed to 161 MPH. It's quicker than the Camaro ZL1 1LE from 0 to 60. By the 1/4 mile the Camaro pulls ahead (that beast does 0 to 60 in 3.5 sec, top speed 205!) Quicker than all but the top line Vettes. The Zr1 C8 Vet (I think it's called) does 0 to 60 in 2.5 secs! Top speed 195.
