Hi All,

For the past three hours, I have been trying to install Mastercam 2019 (Update 1), on a new Windows 11 notebook.

The installer almost completes, then returns the error:

Error 1935. An error has occurred during the installation of assembly component (C47FA2DB-7CCB-4AF7-8ECA-380C3D137511). HRESULT: 0x80070005

It then rolls back the install, and doesn't complete. I tried removing it, and then installing the latest Hasp update drivers, but still get the same issue.

I need to install Mastercam on this new notebook so I can access legacy files. We quit maintenance around 2019, and only use Mastercam to access the legacy data now.

Does anyone have any advice as to who to correct this?

Regards,

Mike

I don't think MC2019 will run on Win11
Its probably an issue with the hasp drivers
Do you have an old Win10 PC you could try

MC2019 was released in June 2018
Win 11 was released in June 2021
It's not likely that MC2019 is going to run on Win11
Maybe you could set your new laptop up as dual boot Win10/11
A better solution is to set it up on an old machine at the office.

Here's Johnny!

Right click on the .exe install file and select the "Compatibility" tab. Then select the "Compatibility Mode" and select windows 10.

I used this method for other software previously (Windows 7) so I am assuming it is still doable.

Wow, really? Yet in Win 10 I could run X8, X9, 2017, 2018 and 2019. I'm really surprised that that.

I guess I can just continue to use the Win 10 notebook, just for MC.

To be fair, I dont run Mastercam very often at all nowadays. I guess, it is progress in one form or another :)

I did run it in Compatibility mode for (I recall Win 8 and Win 10), but it still failed. A similar error a few versions back was attributed to Antivirus running. I disabled antivirus and it still failed, so it wasn't that.
I might ask someone at the Lofty Mist Shrouded castle in Tolland, and see what they say.

X8 was released in June 2014
Win10 was released in June 2015.. and MC developers were able to test X8 on prerelease versions of Win10
and the final updates of X8 were released after Win 10's release.

There may be a very simple solution to this problem, but I have no idea what it may be.
I haven't taken the Win 11 plunge yet.
My backup workstation is too old for Win11 and I'm not about to install Win 11 on my main machine

I use about a dozen different software packages and one of them is sure to have issues with Win11.

This new notebook came with Win 10 installed, but with the upgrade to Win 11 ready to go. I decided to take the plunge with 11, as I know I would need to sooner or later. To be honest, I dont mind Win 11. I've been running on my Surface Pro tablet for about a year, and it seems fine.

I'd reach out to my *cough* reseller, but yeah, well, nah. I was going to contact someone in Tolland, but it has been so long, I think most of the people I had regular contact with are now no longer there.

Aaron hangs out on eMC but I think he was mostly involved with CAM rather that install type work

I might send him a message regardless. *Sigh* I miss the old days when I had long list of people I could talk to there :(

So... I completely cleared out the registry, switched off all AV, and ran installer as administrator, in Win 7 compatibility mode.

No bueno. It returns the same error.

I then used the same installer, and ran it on my Win 11 Surface Pro. It installed fine, and runs perfectly.

Ugh :(
