Does anybody use Google wallet to pay with a credit card?

I recently started using Google wallet for airline tickets, concert tickets, that kind of thing. It's pretty damn handy for that stuff.

I've heard some people say that it's more secure than tapping or inserting your credit card but I'm kind of leery with it.

What say you?

No. I meant using my credit card to earn a percentage back.

Yeah, I use it. Super Convenient to share a card with the wife. Rewards for food,

Great when I forgot your wallet

Despite all the protestations to the contrary, if it is digital, it is insecure.

When you consider that hacks have happened at every level of handling a purchase, from the store, to the credit card processor to the credit card companies themselves....they have all been hacked.

So even "if" Google Pay" is the most secure app eva'.....the rest of the processing chain is fraught with breakdowns...

I agree with this. But I think it's less about how secure the company claims to be, and more about how they handle the hacks.

I've had one of my credit cards stolen twice. Both times I got an email and they froze the account. I have no idea how they knew to flag the purchases because one of them was online from a store not far from where I live. But regardless I got a refund for the 30 bucks someone else spent and all I had to do was call in and say it wasn't me and they mailed me a new card. This wasn't necessarily a "hack" but it's on the same idea.

I don't use any of the pay-on-your-phone apps, but I'd be more curious as to how they handle a hack, less curious how they're preventing a hack. Though I do want them to be concerned about both.

I started using Google Wallet for my hockey tickets and concessions when our arena went completely cashless post-COVID.

It is pretty convenient scanning your tickets from your phone and using the wallet to buy food and drinks.

I have used it for games probably 9 or 10 times, and once for a Jeff Dunham show at our hockey arena and have had zero issues thus far.

I use cash if I'm at a restaurant that doesn't have a credit card machine at the table. My credit card doesn't leave my hand.

I have Google wallet but have never used it. I never think about it and automatically pull my card.

My wife's card was stolen last month. I haven't reported it as the thieves are spending less than her.
