I don't like Trumps age going into this, but I feel the same about most of the other R's running. I would rather have an old trump than young Christie/Haley/etc.

I know a lot of people in Christian ministry keep going with it till they die, or at least until physically impaired to the point where they can't do it any longer. I would say that they are mostly driven by a sense of passion for the ministry and joy that it gives them.

It is completely possible that senators and congressmen could be driven by the same thing. When you think about it, If it is greed that is driving them, for one they have money, a lot of them don't have much time. So if greed were driving it, they should hoard their time. Roy Blunt just quit the senate. He's making more now as a lobbyist than he was as a senator. I can see the power aspect of it. And I am absolutely sure that plays into it for some people. But it is also plausible that people stay there out of a sense of duty or patriotism, even if it would be wiser in the long run for someone younger to take their spot. But younger is not always better. I tend to like the wisdom of Senator Kennedy better than I like the fire-brand of Gaetz. Although there is room for both.
