I didn't donate to that fund has much as I liked their goals.
I knew the powers aligned against them were too strong and they could never succeed
If the President of the United States couldn't get it done there is no way private citizens could.
They did actually start construction, but were instantly buried in restraining orders and law suits.
I have to laugh at the sanctuary cities like New York and Boston singing the blues as they
are inundated  by a never ended flow of illegal immigrants.

my house burned down in 2007 and the same thing happened in my yard. I guess because the trees are green they get scorched but my house went up like a tinder box.

Correct. Houses are basically 0-10% moisture, where trees are 50+%. Also the solid mass of a tree is much greater where only the smaller limbs burn completely, but the trunk is pretty much untouched. A houses mass is very low with cavities in the walls and ceilings.

Think of it like how long it takes a solid wood log to burn on a bonfire compared to a pile of twigs.
