New Machine day, again. It used to be exciting but when you get a new machine every 6 months it starts to just feel like a bunch of work. Also, due to some sort of miscommunication, We didn't know we were having a machine delivered today until this morning. We thought it was coming in a few weeks. It was a bit of scramble getting the area cleared, but we got it done. Okuma Multus B250 today. We also have a second B250 and a U3000 on order. We just had a B300 delivered in July. When they are all delivered that will bring our fleet of Okuma Multi to 3@ B300's, 3@ B250s, and 2@ U3000. Plus we 2@ LT3000 2TMY. We also have another 500mm Hori with 16 pallet Fastems on order. three more ABB' robots on the way also.

We have a new one coming too, but it's already a week late.

Ours is just a dinky little Haas UMC-500, nothing like the monster machines Doug is talking about.

But it's an upgrade for one of our ancient Fadal VMC 4020's that they FINALLY decided to replace, so we'll take it!

When are we gonna get a "It's moving day!" post? Cuz you guys gotta be getting short on space quickly.

Yeah, we have begun those discussions. Our owner owns the building we are in. There is one renter in a 15000 sq ft space. They have along lease though so we may not be able to get them out in time for our needs. We are looking into a rental space down the street to store extra inventory/etc.

Kind of funny, every time we get a new machine or two a bunch of people in polishing, packaging, and shipping/warehouse have to move their areas for the new machines. When anyone in those areas sees me walking around their area with a tape measure they instantly get pissed off and tell me go away. Some with very colorful four letter words thrown in!

We have a Mazak i-200st coming in a couple weeks. Our Okuma MA-8000H has been pushed back to the first or second week in November. The overhead crane install got started today though.

Yeah, more of the same. the Multus U3000 coming in March is supposed to have the new OSP P500 control. However I must be getting old because feel more "I hope they didn't change everything" versus "wow, a new control, let's see what's different" about the idea of a new control.

I was in Reno yesterday with a 2012 era Matsuura HMC customer that had a new twin spindle Okuma. I didn't see the model number. I asked him a few questions about it and he grumbled something about a "new control" then blurted out some expletives.

Good Luck

The OSP 300 control on our new Omkma MU-1000H is pretty sweet.
I wish I could spend a month or 2 running the machine so I could learn more about it

You got a new MU1000? Nice. I still remember visiting with CNCAppsJames, and really digging checking out your MU, and that nice and chonky VTM. Really nice machines.

We have a P300 on our U3000. It is a really nice control.

Boy, as much as I dislike the at times,  limiting factor,  there is something to be said for nearly 50 machines and having them all being able to run the same code between the differing flavors.

We are in the same position. Each machine is an Okuma control. Operator familiarity is a good benefit. Certainly helps with the transition from one machine to another.
