Biden has already called asking for discretion and negotiations regarding Americans hostages.
He was told there will be no negotiations. Israel has formally declared war and the war will continue
until Hamas is no more. I'm not sure that is even possible, no matter their resolve.

Lots of chatter going on about Hamas using US weapons for the attack. Ukraine selling the weapons donated to their effort to Iran, Iran in turn donating the weapons to Hamas.  Ukraine being corrupt AF this scenario is very plausible.

So next step I see happening is a aid package ($$$) will get drafted up for Israel, but the only way it will pass is if Ukraine gets more aid ($$$). Ukraine sells off more of the "aid". US is now funding both sides of the conflict, indirectly and directly.

No shit... we only left $36 billion worth of weapons in Afghanistan.
A lot of it was armored vehicles, helicopters, trucks etc etc.
Without a dedicated supply chain to support them, this stuff is nearly worthless as
it would be impossible to keep them running.

However, we did leave enough small arms ( rifles, machine guns, mortars, grenades and ammo)
to supply a couple of divisions of light infantry.
The Taliban has been selling this stuff as fast as they can.
