I don't agree but there are millions of voters out there that would never vote for a Christian that was outspoken in their beliefs. My daughter is one. Carville and Maher do the country no good in saying these things.

Smit

I don't see where they're wrong.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being outspoken in religious beliefs. Getting carried away and preaching to everybody is a turn off though.

Having said that, there is something absolutely wrong when a fundamentalist christian tries to change the nation into a theocracy, which is very much against the constitution and what this country was founded on.

There is something absolutely wrong when a fundamentalist christian tries to change laws to inflict their "Christian" driven views upon this country.

Some of the nastiest, most hateful people in this country use God and the bible to justify those thoughts and goals.

I honestly believe the Christians who quietly go about living their lives by their christian morals without trying to inflict their views on everybody else are the great majority of the Christians in this country. But the loud minority of Christians like Mike Johnson, who run for office while proclaiming to everybody who will listen that they want to turn the U.S. into a "Christian nation" are indeed a danger to this country.

I doubt that even most Christians want to live in a theocracy.

I don't disagree with you but are they worse than Al Queda. If they are then so is BLM, Wokeism,Progressives,
Etc as each desire to force their ways on others. I do though prefer a humble believer.

NOBODY is trying to "   change this country into a theocracy".

Our nation's founding documents (the fringe documents as you, Smit, like to refer to them as) are littered with references to God and/or a divine being. To deny this fact just shows once again how completely ignorant you are of US history and you really should refrain from speaking on such matters.

NOTHING in the Constitution (fringes of fringe documents) states religious people need to check their faith and beliefs at the door. "... freedom OF religion..." which the Constitution CLEARLY states is not the same as freedom FROM religion which the leftists like to tell people is says. What it means there will be no officially sanctioned church of the United States (like The Church of England). That's all. If the fact some of our leaders choose to worship and choose to proclaim such worship publicly that IS their right. If their public declaration offends you, I'll send some sand to you, to pack in your vagina... so you can harden up.

This nation was founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs. It's a fact. Get over it. Don't like that fact?
Move to an atheistic country.

James Carville is entitled to his opinion. Frankly the hyperbole is WAY over the top and is very Trump-esque. Like the idiots that call Republicans "Hitler"... ya know the WWII guy that ACTUALLY literally killed/ordered the killing  of  MILLIONS of people

Greater threat than Al-Queda... The only threat greater than Al-Queda is perhaps Iran or Hezbollah. Those people actually have a body count.

If you've ever had to wonder why people are becoming more and more critical of Christianity and why it's becoming more common to..  well, I'll just leave it at that.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Not Necessarily.

Far Left/Far Right.

In a sense Smit is Right. :o

Most(I believe) are Not Bible Thumpers. But consider a certain Standard of Morality.

And are happy to stay in their own Lane.

When someone starts moving the Yellow Lines they are Not Happy.

The Gen Z , X , whatever likely did not have much of a presence in Church as a Family.

Therefore did not learn that as a society we are in the same house regardless of Affinity. Catholic , Muslim , Jew. whichever.

So being raised in a separation environment seek like minded enforcement.

I may not have explained that well....Sorry :)

P.S. It was reported BLM now endorses Trump. ::)

I'd actually got in to an argument on reddit recently talking about the Washington State High School Football coach who was fired for praying on the field.

I was 100% in support of his right to pray on the field as long as he wasn't imposing his religion forcefully on others, which he wasn't.

I was attacked by 1000's of redditors for defending the coach.

Christianity is becoming a joke to the younger generations and at times, it's not hard to see why.  :(

Well, what Carville and Maher were saying is that they're more of a danger to this country than AL Queda, not that they're worse than AL Queda.

IMO, AL Queda isn't much of a danger to this country by themselves. All they can do is trigger us to do self destructive shit like we did after 9/11.

Nuts of all persuasions working in government and trying to persuade government are much more dangerous to our representative republic.

FWIW I'm not a fan of hardcore Christians who show no love or humbleness.
