I just got over my second "official" bout a month & a half ago. When I say official I mean I tested positive.
Bout #1 was pretty fucking miserable. No appetite, felt like the flu. Woke up one morning, felt like I had a hangover. By the end of the day I was starting to feel pretty bad, went home on time from work. (typically I stay an hour or 2 late). Woke up the next morning, felt fine, but my truck wouldn't start (dead battery)

By the time I got the battery changed I was fucking exhausted. Rested for a few hours...went & got a test, Positive. The next few days were when the flu like symptoms kicked in, no appetite, no energy. Sore throat from hell. 5 days later I was good enough to go to work.

Had a lingering cough for about a month tho. And got headaches really often.

Bout #2 was about 6 weeks ago. Started on a Friday, felt the same as I did when I had it before, like I had a hangover. Saturday I was pretty sick, zero energy, really felt like ass. Got tested Sunday, was positive. By Wednesday I was back to work, albeit with not as much energy. By the next Friday, I was 100%. No lingering cough this time around.

Best thing about round 2 was the recovery, no lingering cough, no headaches. Back to normal within a week...just like what you would expect from a flu

I've never tested positive, but my wife has and there were several days when I felt pretty bad
at the same time my wife was testing positive.
What I had was much different than regular flu.. I felt bad but I also had a really bad mental fog.
My memory was shot and I couldn't reason or solve problems.
I'd just sit there staring at the screen like it was the first time I'd ever seen it, then something would pop and I'd get back to work.
That's a bad place to be for a programmer.
I don't feel like I've ever come back 100% from it either, but it may just be one of the downsides to being 69 years old.

I started getting a fever on my first day of vacation. My normal temperature is 96.8 and I checked 101°. I'm down to 98° today. I felt ok though this whole time but just had a fever. Is that Covid like?

My daughter is almost over the Flu-B.  She started feeling like shit last Saturday, took her to the doc in the box on Sunday.  You know it's bad when a soon to be 11yr old hasn't hardly gotten outta bed in 4 days.

My mother in law seems to be doing better
She's still in quarantine though.
They test every five days and she will remain in quarantine until she does a clean test.

I may be wrong but I think you can test positive for weeks but not be contagious.

I know a guy here at work that got covid but continued testing positive. We had a rule here at first that you couldn't come back until you tested negative, but we finally just gave up on that because he was begging to come back to work but he kept testing positive 4 or 6 weeks out.

Correct, UP TO 12 WEEKS. 10 days is as long as anyone needs to quarantine. No need to test after a positive test. Any more and they are just a waste.

Oh I remember. My son at the time was less than a year old. He had an obvious ear infection, it took us 3 days for him to be seen by a doctor OVER FACETIME because it required a negative covid test. I wanted to strangle each and every person that made that decision.

QuoteI want to send a direct message to the American people: Due to the steps we've taken Omicron has not yet spread as fast as it would have otherwise done...But it's here now and it's spreading and it's gonna increase. ... We are looking at a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated – for themselves, their families and the hospitals they'll soon overwhelm. But there's good news: If you're vaccinated and you have your booster shot, you're protected from severe illness and death...

Turns out my boss got sick with it the same time I did. Almost exactly. We're trying to guess who we got it from.
