It's not all Chic Filets. I heard on the radio the places in airports, maybe the subways and rest stops may be required to stay open on Sundays.

first, they forced them to close then they force them to stay open.  Force is the operative word, here.

The assemblyman himself spells it out pretty clear.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-york-democrats-bill-could-force-chick-fil-a-to-open-on-sundays

QuoteAssemblyman Tony Simone, who is openly complaining that Chick-fil-A has a "terrible record on LGBT rights," penned Bill A08336 to mandate that the New York State Thruway Authority only continue or enter into contracts with businesses that will stay open all seven days of the week.

"Chick-fil-A has had a terrible record on LGBT rights," Simone complained to the New York Post last week. "I'm not going to not say that clearly."

"To serve New Yorkers and travelers, things should be open seven days a week, including Chick-fil-A, and if they can't they shouldn't be in our rest stops," he continued. "There should be options for people to eat and drink and not just one spot."

I think this may be the rare time me and Smit agree on something. They are private businesses that located in public places that are a space premium. I applaud Chic fil A for being closed on Sunday and staying true to their beliefs, but I also see the issue with private corporations that serve the public in public locations being closed one day a week. A lot of people travel on Sundays and if the public space is open Sundays, I don't feel it is out of the question that the attached businesses should be as well. Those highway oasis stops are convenient for getting gas and having foods choices right there. Same thing with airport terminals.

If you could force one group of people to deny their religious beliefs, then you could also force another group of people into intermittent fasting.

My preference would be to not do either and just let the people walk another 10 steps on sunday and eat at the competitors. who profit from increased business on that day.

Most rest stops I frequent only have a single source for prepared food and then just a bunch of snack machines.

I have zero problem with a state requiring a restaurant to be open 7 days a week before permitting them to operate in a site the state owns.

If Chick-fil-A doesn't like it, don't operate in state owned facilities.

that's the assemblyman's point. He's trying to make them close or defy their religious beliefs because he doesn't like their stance on LGBTQ.

Notably, there is already a standard that at least one hot-food option is open and available at these rest stops on every day of the week to better accommodate travelers and truckers. If Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays at a given rest stop, for example, there is another restaurant open."

LOL.  Well that seems like a very important bit of information in the story.

So basically they're telling them if they want to use a space on their property they have to be open on Sunday?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I'm sorry are we just talking about Convenience??

Or are there really Americans that are too stoopid to pull off the Freeway (other than a rest stop, Airport, whatever.)

To get the food of their Choice. (Wendy's has a good spicy chicken sandwich, KFC ?? Zaxby's?? >:( )

That We Need Lawmakers to make a Law??

We need a Law for this??

Or do these Idiots have nothing better to do?? >:(

Do we NEED a Law to Buckle up?? No.

If you can't figure out that The seatbelt keeps you in you are a Moron.

Put your Kid on a roller coaster. First thing I'm looking at is What secures him/her.

I don't need a Law. "Roller Coasters Must retain their Passengers" AB 666 Implies ...

"No Person may leave the roller coaster at it's Apex" :D
