Supposed to get down to 11°f tonight. Not terrible, but definitely icy when driving around. Got some rain yesterday so it's a bit of a mess. They haven't plowed our street at all. The slush has turned to hard ice.

Went to the Michigan/ Utah game a few years ago, snow all over the place and snowing like mad at the time. Our buddy picked us up from the SLC airport in his pristine '72 Chevelle. No chains on that bad boy lol.

I wish Michigan would allow tire chains, now we have to try and get the Peerless Steel truck un-stuck from our side-alley drive.

You know it's been cold when you see the temp is 2° and think it's a warming trend because it's a positive number.

Oddly enough, it's the natives that drive with the most hubris more often than not. What's that saying; Familiarity breeds contempt?

My travels all across the US in a variety of weather conditions has born this out time, and time, and time again.

I recall a trip to mASSachussetts... I was about 60 miles away from Logan Airport. I left where I was at with 7 HOURS to spare. Because fo all the idiot native drivers with their bald tire clad 2WD shitboxes, I missed my flight. And it happens EVERY YEAR. Like it's some big surprise it snows in mASSachussets.

That probably is a surprise to the people who live in Mass. some of their more well-to-do citizens have been telling us that we are about to boil alive for several years now.

I was in Lynn, Mass. on business one time. I was surprised to see how they handled left turns on those narrow winding roads. You just stick your nose into the oncoming lane and force them to stop, then make your turn. I never saw any driver get upset; apparently that's just what you do there.

When I lived in Colorado I rolled with 2 sandbags in the trunk of my Mustang.
As long as I didn't get stupid I never got stuck and the CHP never made me put on chains.
I went back to Colorado on leave with Cali plates while I was in the service and they wouldn't let me
past the road blocks without chains.
The local gas station was happy to sell me some garbage chains at a 500% markup.
The chains came apart about a mile up the hill and badly damaged my car.
They did get me past the road block though.. so I took them off and continued my journey with no further problems.

And I base that purely on their stupid accents, nothing else.
