Quote from: Tim Johnson on February 06, 2024, 04:00 PMI'll have about six weeks "sick time" before coming back to work due to a heart attack. I was lucky enough to go down in the poker room and get almost immediate response. My go to work day is currently March 1st as long as I'm considered well on February 29.

Best wishes Tim for healing

Thanks Dell. I'm feeling well except for my chest bones. I think I got a couple of them cracked during CPR. The hospital I was taken to was cleaning out my arteries and putting stents in me almost right away.

My daughter who is a nurse says ribs are almost always broken during CPR. Glad you are better because they don't do cpr unless you're dead

Glad you lived to tell about it, Tim!

Prayers and best wishes for healing and hopefully getting back to work on your scheduled date.
But even if it takes a bit longer, don't rush it!

No personal experience with CPR, Thank God!.
but I've read that if they don't crack a rib or 2 they are not doing it right
Glad you pulled through OK.
Considering that the docs are going to put you on a Yo Doug special veggie diet
that may or may not be a good thing

That sounds like some lame craft beer you'd pay $15 a mug for in some hipster grunge bar.

Pulmón blanco tacos, 3 for $5

No, YOU would pay!! I would have a shot of Cuervo and a tecate in my vest pocket.

I can't remember ever buying a craft beer. Let alone drinking one I was given for Free.

I feel your pain
I'll be 70 this year and I do not eat a proper diet for my age.
To some people the Yo Doug Veggie Special Diet is a fate worse than death.

I don't look at it as a life or death issue, but more of a quality of life issue. I was overweight, tired, in pain, and on course to be on multiple meds that keep you alive but not well. What I wanted was to be healthy, feel good, be able to be active and enjoy life. For me, I feel the difference came when I change my diet and lifestyle. When I started to feel those benefits I really changed my outlook on food as fuel, not pleasure. Every persons current health status is different as well as the trajectory of their health. Some people can make small changes to diet and lifestyle and see big effects, others will make big changes to only see minimal health benefit.

I just got a phone call from my aunt
She reports that a cousin of mine just died of covid
He was 65 and a retired Army officer. He worked part time teaching ROTC classes in Tulsa OK.
He was not vaxxed and did not believe in them.
He went from a runny nose to dead in 3 days.
I've never met the man and don't know if he had any underlying health issues
I feel bad for my aunt
She has outlived her husband, 2 sisters, one brother and all three of her children.
