Quote from: Smit on April 22, 2024, 08:51 AMI love that sound track, and the play also. I listen to it 3 or 4 times a year, and last year I saw the play twice at 2 different venues.

I saw the play back in the 90s with Ted Neely (from the movie) as Jesus. Judas was supposed to be played by the guy from the movie but the understudy took his place.

Did you see the tv version with John Legend as Jesus and Alice Cooper as Herod? I enjoyed it.

I don't listen to full albums anymore. I'd have to have some Waylon Jennings, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allison Krause, Steve Earle.

But now I'm thinking...those new carbon fiber guitars sound pretty good and you can use them as a paddle if necessary. I might start traveling with one, just in case.

I don't think I saw that version. I really like old Alice Cooper stuff so I'm going to look for that.

There are a few different versions out there. I saw one that was based in the 1950s with the gangs of that era. It was not as good as the original movie but still entertaining.

I don't often but there are some where some songs just smoothly flow into the next so the only time I listen to them is the full album.

Yeah I think with iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, etc., everyone has their go-to playlists, so I don't think anyone hardly plays a full album anymore.

Back in the day you would usually listen to a whole album or CD once you started it, but today you can just pick your top couple of singles from any album and just pop them into your favorite playlist.

True.
Great example is Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'.
Start to finish it actually tells a complete story.
Probably one of the few full albums I can think of that I like to listen to all the way through.

I almost included "The Wall" as the perfect example of that. :)

The TV version with John legend was on NBC a few years ago. It was a live broadcast over Easter weekend.

While I use Pandora....I still pretty often hit my online music collection and stream full albums.

I noticed a comment earlier about the Beatles....name me another band that in those short years, 7, 1963-1970 who put out so much hit material AND evolved as a band as they did so?  From I wanna hold your hand thru to Abbey Road, The White ALbum, Sgt Peppers and Let it Be....

They didn't evolve, they grew up and stopped writing bubblegum pop songs like "I wanna hold your hand" because they weren't 17 anymore and started smoking pot, doing heroin and writing different material.

I've never been a big fan of The Beatles. They were before my time and I just wasn't in to that music.

I think the biggest evolution in their music came from the influence they had on other bands. It would be hard to name all of the bands that gave them a mention when asked who their influences were.

So, you have a death wish?

If not, I'm afraid you're stuck with Hannity. Imagine having a nasty little Pomeranian nipping at your ankles 24.7.365.

I remember as a kid watching the Beatles cartoons on Saturday mornings.

Killer and Love it To Death by Alice Cooper would be right up there for me, also.
