I guess Vegans can't graph. There is nothing scientific in that 'article'.

How do you explain the French paradox, that backs up the data I post? It's gonna be a hard-sell.
is National Library of Medicine the meat lobby?

Over the last few years I have posted countless studies and graphs on here. I'm don't need to.

As for the National Library of Medicine, I have even posted FOIA docs that show the revolving door of ex meat/dairy industry insiders and gov agencies.

The stats don't lie. Over the last 100 years countries and populations that ate more meat/dairy and had higher ldl cholesterol have higher rates of heart disease, diabetes, etc. Sure you can find an oddball study that seems to suggest the opposite, or twist the facts, but the overwhelming body of evidence supports that high LDL cholesterol levels are causal to atherosclerosis of the arteries.

Lastly, doctors Esselstyn, Williams, Davis, Kahn, etc. are all leading cardiologists that are heads of major hospitals all over the country. They all have programs that successfully treat and even reverse heart disease by feeding patients low fat whole food plant based diets. There are no major hospitals running programs for heart disease patients by feeding them high fat high LDL diets.

When the last version of the USDA food pyramid came out, the USDA board that approves the pyramid had 8 out of 12 members that had previous or current financial and/or family ties to big food industry. The MO is pretty straight forward, you make policy and decisions that benefit big food/pharma/etc then in a few years you or a family member gets a cushy high paying job at a big food company. When they leave the gov agency, they hire or promote a replacement that is industry "approved". Been this way for at least a few decades.

The MO of meat, dairy, and processed foods is keep people confused about what is or is not healthy. An example is Trans-vaccenic acid. That is the subject of a current misinformation campaign. If you google that you will get a page full of articles linking to a study claiming that this acid reduces cancer cells in lab tests. Then all the articles claim this means you should eat more red meat. If you actually read the study the authors say that eating diets high in red meat are shown to have higher all cause mortality and higher cancer rates. They don't in any way say you should eat more red meat. The articles also don't discuss plant sources that are high in Trans-vaccenic acid.

Now take that strategy and try to reverse it for plants. I have yet to see a study that praises a single element/protein/nutrient/etc. of plants but then warns against eating a diet high in plant foods. They don't exist because diets high in plant foods are healthier.

Correlation is not causation.

In that same.time span Mr. Vegan von Fanuc Hater the amount of processed foods people have consumed has skyrocketed. Is that even talked about in yiur anti-meat propaganda?

Fact, people have been eating meat for millenia. No amount of propaganda against your big this or that can refute that. No graph, no study, nothing. We've eaten meat forever. Period. You want to be vegan, fine. Be a vegan. Veg out to your heart's content. But personally I'm going to go easy on my food's food because their proper nutrition means the meat they provide me ans my family will be more nutritious.

I'm not talking grocery store, big-box, meat. I'm talking small, family run organic operations with no hormones and stuff like that.

I've been getting my beef from Little Cattle Co. Best meat I've ever tasted. Single cow ground beef. Instead of grocery store beef where yiu could have up to 300 cows in a single beef patty. It's expensive. Unfortunately mass production has hurt the beef industry as has China buying parts of our domestic beef operations, but I digress.

There are humane ways to purchase and consume animal protein. We will do that because as humans we are omnivorous organisms no matter what yiur propaganda says.

LOL, your arguments reek of propaganda. However, you have Smit grade rose colored glasses when it comes to nutrition science so I don't expect much from you. Your arguments are so weak regurgitated BS it's not even worth the time to refute.

Yes, processed foods a discussed. Good studies account for that. There is good data from the early 1900's to the mid 1900's. That was before the big industrialization of processed food. From the early 1900's meat and dairy consumption started to grow. By the mid 1900's so did heart disease and many other forms of chronic illness.

Eaten meat forever huh, Prove it. Show actual proof beyond theories from cave paintings or collections of bones. Either side of the argument when it comes to tens of thousands of years of nutrition history is just theory based on minimal evidence.

As far as humane ways to purchase and consume animal protein, not quite. The cattle on a factory farm and the cattle on your small family run farm both have the same desire to live. The same ability to form relationships with other animals including humans. The same ability to show emotion and empathy. Neither one makes a willing sacrifice for you. Given the opportunity they would choose to live, even fight for their life if they understood what was happening to them. I'm guessing you probably side with Kristi Noem.

I could post a great paper that goes into all of the physiological differences between carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. Guess what, we share the most traits with herbivores, not by a little, but by a lot. But again, your mind is made up.

I could post a whole host of papers that actually show causal links to cancers, atherosclerosis, etc from meat and dairy consumption. But again your mind is made up.

The funniest part of your weapons grade glasses is you will fully denounce big pharma and their corruption, but you don't think that the same thing happens in nutrition science when the same investment groups that own most of big pharma own most of the food supply. It would make for a great psychology study to see why people that go into nutrition/medical/food sciences are pure as the driven snow but those that go into pharmaceutical science are corrupt.

I kinda figured that anyone who's spent any time raising livestock sides with Kristi Noem?   I remember when I was young and lived with my grandma on their farm, if a dog was eating their chickens or geese, it didn't make it home. I'd also seen a neighbors dog who for some reason loved to come and harass the cattle and horses get kicked in the face by one of the horses.  I'll bet that dog wished it had been shot.  The owners had to put it down.

That was a good one though.

She could have easily given the dog to a rescue that would have worked with the dog.

I don't know any of the details in her case. I'd personally never seen anyone shoot their own dog, although the dogs were trained to leave the livestock alone.  I'd only seen neighbors dogs shot and usually after the owners had been warned prior.

It wasn't uncommon to have dogs running around off leashes. This was back in the 70's and most neighbors were 1/4 mile away minimum.

It confirms that our closest living biological relatives are chimpanzees and bonobos, with whom we share many traits. But we did not evolve directly from any primates living today. DNA also shows that our species and chimpanzees diverged from a common ancestor species that lived between 8 and 6 million years ago.

She shot her own dog because she was incapable of training it to not go after birds. She could have given up to a rescue. Instead she shot it and thought that made her look good because she could make tough decisions.

Irrefutable evidence of early hunting

Yeah, specialize tools for processing plant foods only appear in later times but specialized weapons for hunting animals are evident. It doesn't take specialized tools to pick fruits and veggies and eat them, that's why there are no tools. Maybe you can convince an elementary school kids or machinists with that logic, but it doesn't hold up to any scrutiny.

You got me. That picture of a fossilized mammoth bone can't be argued. Seriously, only a spear tip could have made that? LOL, there are a million things that could have happened to that specific mammoth to cause that mark in the bone. Again minimal evidence touted as absolute truth.

See Now Here is where you "ASSUME"

Back then , There weren't a lot of Rescues.

Those came along later.

In that period Animals were given to "The Dog Pound"

Given Two Weeks to adopt and If not Euthanized. :)

The Time Frame is the Key here.

Wasn't a buncha "Furries " runnin around then.

And They Shot The Queers too. ???

My Old man spent good Money on his hunting Dogs.

Trained them Religiously.

One was Untrainable "A Cull"

He put it down in the field right in front of my Sisters.

Times were Tougher.

He wasn't gonna waste any Money on a Pet.

That's one more Mouth to feed. >:(
