Sure, and the cost is relative. If you're a large shop it's an investment that will pay for itself is a short amount of time.  Probably the same for a reseller who can sell posts.

When you're a small shop supporting a relatively low number of machines, it takes a bit longer for any roi.

Sandvik Coromant tooling is sold direct from Sandvik Coromant in the USA is it?

That's how we buy our Sandvik stuff. Direct from their website. We have a rep that stops in once a week and visits us and our 3 "sister shops".  With the discount, we get really good prices. He treats us pretty good.

Our distributor has a couple of reps, and we normally seem him about once a month. Likewise, they look after us pretty well price wise, and their service is rock solid.

Where are you at that you can't deal direct? I didn't know Sandvik even had distributors.

Sadly, your product is the result of one man's genius and if your products were acquired
they'd insist that you came with the acquisition... so you'd be back to being an employee again.

Our products are built on top of our api which is an easy to use library of functions that are consumed by our products. It is very easy to use and documented, they would not need someone to explain how it works necessarily. Being an employee again wouldn't be terrible, CEO isn't a bad job...

If MC were to do that and follow the same business model that TS does for posts, we would more than likely just go back to TS.  We left TS because of their lack of flexibility when it came to posts and how difficult they make it to be able to edit your own posts (forced training and then have to pay for the ability). If Mastercam went that route there would be no point in sticking with it.
