To your point, the left came a little late to the game, but yea, they do it too. For some reason the left doesn't get the audiences.  Maybe The View?     I don't think that the cable news networks (msnbc, cnn, etc) are doing very well?

When he was doing 'The Problem with Jon Stewart', he'd dove in to some topics that I felt like he was a bit out of his lane but that's a story for another day.

All of this talk about conservative and liberal media I was recently remained of Plato's allegory of the cave

Cliff notes version-
A group of prisoners is chained inside a cave for their whole lives. They are bound in such a position that they can only see the wall in from of them. Behind them, there is a light & people are casting shadow puppets on the wall. This is the reality they understand.

Then a prisoner somehow escapes and gets outside. Sees the world for what it really is. Is amazed. Decides to go back into the cave to help his fellow prisoners escape.

Once inside the cave, his eyes are no longer adjusted to the darkness. As a result he trips and falls over shit, but is trying to explain to the other prisoners how great things are. All the other prisoners can understand is now the guy who escaped can no longer see and think how harmful going outside can be.

Plato was describing the main stream media 2500 years ago in this story. Apply it how ever you want. As much as I would like to believe that things are as simple as Russia bad, Ukraine good, Harris good, Trump bad, etc, etc, I think the stuff we are bombarded with 24/7 is nothing more than a shadow on a wall. We only see what they want us to. Hopefully others are like minded enough to look outside every now & then to see that we are being bombarded with bullshit. 

But to say the the likes of Limbaugh and The View are a new thing is just not correct. Plato called it 2500 years ago. Reality can be distorted to whatever reality you choose to follow.....or are bombarded with 24/7
