Quote from: Jim at Gentex on August 23, 2024, 10:46 AMShe was placed in charge of the southern border in 2021 by Biden, even though she is trying to deny that now.

If she wanted the border 'tightened up' it would have been done long ago.

NBC said so in 2021...
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/biden-taps-harris-lead-coordination-efforts-southern-border-n1261952

So did the AP...

I hate the term 'czar' but whether that term applies or not, it WAS her responsibility, and she failed miserably.

Trump actually tightened the border by Executive Order, which Biden promptly rescinded on his first day.

So yeah, one candidate has given lip service to the border situation, and one actually did something about it...
There you go with them pesky facts again!

Quote from: Jeff on August 23, 2024, 10:42 AMI had a friend who was so distraught that he said "What am I going to tell my daughter?"
His daughter at the time was 5.

This is but a small portion of the unhinged lunacy that people buy into because of all the gaslighting done by the leftist media.

That has been my experience with regards to how leftists "live" their lives; when things don't go their way, they lose their shit, sometimes just figuratively, other times, literally AND figuratively... and it's lost for a LONG time. Entire administrations sometimes.

Conservatives... when things don't go their way, they'll lose their shit figuratively for a short period of time, but reality sets in rather quickly and they get back to work. We bitch and complain... A LOT, but we still work the problem.

Obviously there are exceptions to the rule, however leftists gain their notoriety and outrage points the longer they stay lost in their shit, because after all, they have Soros to bail them out during election time for mostly protests, social media events, etc.

Conservatives have to get back to work... millions of people on welfare and illegal immigrants depend on them.

Quote from: Smit on August 23, 2024, 10:24 AMHarris is for lower inflation, lower home prices, lower drug prices, lower food prices, a strong military, tightening up the border, and holding criminals responsible for their crimes.

She's had 3.5 years to at least pay lips service to what she's "for"
She's said nothing
Biden even made her the "border czar", a fact she vehemently denies.
She did nothing about the border, if fact I'm pretty sure she never got within 100 miles of our southern border.
Virtually every position she is now " for" is the diametral opposite of what the Biden Admin has been doing for the last 3.5 years.
It's total bullshit.. but our lapdog press allows her to get away with it.
If fact, the lapdog press is actually helping her to lie about it.

You seem to be forgetting that Trump urged the Repugs to oppose the bipartisan border bill that would have provided cash to tighten up the border. Harris is hoping to push that through congress and make it law.

Trump, of course, put his campaign above the county, and the Repugs, or course, did what they were told. Shameful.

Bipartisan bill...right.
I will assume you didn't read it because if you did you wouldn't even mention it.

Anyway we are in deep shit no matter who gets elected, and I think that's something we can all agree on.

Replace Harris with Trump, and for once Dumbsmit would be right about something.
All it takes is 1 brain cell to realize that is what Trump has been wanting since 2016.

I'll put this here to refresh your memory, 'cuz I'm helpful like that. :)

Senate Republicans threaten to block border security bill they negotiated

Excerpt:

QuoteIn a striking turn of events, Senate Republicans threatened Monday to block a major bipartisan package of border security measures and asylum restrictions, just one day after their chief negotiator signed off on it.

QuoteDonald Trump is demanding that Republicans sink the agreement, which they struck with Democrats and is now backed by President Joe Biden, as Trump, the likely 2024 Republican presidential nominee, seeks to wield immigration as a political weapon in the fall election. Trump tore into the bill on social media, calling it "nothing more than a highly sophisticated trap for Republicans to assume the blame on what the Radical Left Democrats have done to our Border, just in time for our most important EVER Election."

Quote"Just gobsmacked. I've never seen anything like it," Sen. Brian Schatz, of Hawaii, a member of Democratic leadership, said on X. "They literally demanded specific policy, got it, and then killed it."

There is lots of other information on this deal from other sources if you care to look further. But you won't likely find it on right wing sites. I'm sure you know that.

Which they intentionally threw in knowing full well it would get swatted down just so they could say: :They are against the border bill"

And look at the dumbsmits eating it up like a fat kid eats cake.
