I'll be excited to see some teams play real competitors this coming week.  I haven't seen too many teams that just stand out above the rest.
Alabama looked like a sack fulla assholes, but turned it around in the 4th.
GA is really good.
Poor ole Michigan is gonna have a rough go.
Auburn still Sucks and Notre Dame is, as usual, overrated.

Our 1st game against LSU was no joke.

Our next 4 are gonna be real tests.

USC vs. Michigan - Away
Wisconsin vs. USC - Home
USC vs. Minnesota - Away
Penn State vs. USC - Home

Not really looking forward to playing a pissed off Michigan team. 😬

That was pathetic.
Defense was meh, and our offensive line (which is all new) is absolutely terrible, they can't block making our run game non-existent. Putting all of the pressure on the passing game.
Enter Davis Warren, whose biggest talking point is that he had leukemia, chemptherapy throughout his young life and this year he started his fist ever game. Oh and fun fact... he only played 7 games in high school.
Seven.
And it shows. He's terrible.
Jack Tuttle the Indiana transfer from a couple of years ago is hurt and can't get back fast enough. He's not the best either but at least he can run an offense.

What gets me is that after all this time, this is what Moore went with for the starting QB job? The transfer portal exists, Michigan has a fuck ton of money to get someone competent.
The backup, Alex Orji can't pass either. He's a gimmick QB that EFVERYONE knows when he comes in it's an option play. I think he's only ever passed the ball 3 times. So that's a waste of a down because the defense just stacks the box and plays the run. The number of times he's came in and the result was a positive gain is very low.

The only thing that made Saturday bearable was a #5 nd team losing to an unranked Northern Illinois.

I think If Michigan played Texas maybe mid-season they would have had a better chance, but facing a powerhouse team like that right out of the gate is always tough.

Notre Dame found out the hard way that the old adage is true...
You can't take ANY opponent lightly!

Penn State also found out that the boys from Bowling Green came to play.
All I can say is that it's a good thing for them that the games are four quarters long, and that you can pull your head out of your ass at halftime!

Gonna be a loooooong season for everyone, but worse for some than others.

A good weekend is when USC wins.

A great weekend is when USC wins and fU¢LA or ND loose.

A PERFECT weekend is when USC wins and fU¢LA AND ND loose. 8)

True, Jeff.

Weakass early schedule, but... we're LOADED this year (well, every year...but we got studs at key positions. And a reliable veteran QB who can use his legs, too). 2 excellent RB's, a stud freshman WR Jeremiah Smith (#1 recruit in nation, I think).

Should be a good year. Especially when we spank scUM at the Shoe this year!

Every D1 team has a few creampuff games, always have, always will.

The beauty of those games is just what we saw last week when an obscure team like Northern Illinois knocks off a top 20 team like Notre Dame.

Lesser talented teams like that ALWAYS come in with a chip on their shoulder knowing full well they are probably not going to win, but they want the big dogs to know they were in a fight.  :ouch:

That forces the big dogs to take care of their business regardless of who is on the other side, and once in a while they get caught looking ahead instead of focusing on the game at hand, like Notre Dame did.
