CGTech has now rebranded as Vericut.

Vericut.com is the new go to, with a new logo.

Maintenance renewal is up in October
I'm wondering how much more they are going to charge for that fancy website?

I got a quote for Force a couple of months ago.
I had to call twice to get an estimate. $40K for mill and lathe
When I asked about help getting a first job running the reply was $1950/day
My boss would not even present the quote to management and I never got a follow up call from
CGtech.

$9860 for ours

Force only line item was $4080 of that amount above.

I forgot the K in 40 in my post as in $40K

That for 2 licenses?  Ours was "right" about half of that for a single seat of it

gcode

1 ea Force Milling   $24K
1 ea Force Lathe     $12K

Mill maintenance     $4080
Lathe maintenance    $2040

2 days onsight training   $3900

total  $46K

We have 2 seats of Vericut
Maybe the 1 seat of Force will run simultaneously on both seats
so they charge more?? I don't know.

At any rate, I talked it up pretty good prior to getting the quote
and was laughed out of the building once it came in.

It's too bad.. I'm working on a couple of projects
that could really benefit from Force.
The whole experience was not what I would normally expect from GCTECH Vericut

Interesting, we have it for lathe & mill and it was that cost above, not noted as separate buys..

Edit...hang on, looking back at the quote ours does list Force Milling....
We have used that portion on milling on our Integrexs...

Unfortunately, Force is a licensed product from another vendor, so CGTech Vericut have to charge what they do for it.

Is it cost effective? The general consensus is that it is. I have a customer looking at it at the moment.

I didn't know that. I always assumed it was CGTech who developed that package.
If CGTech didn't do it, who did?

That's just stupid.
They could make double the revenue if they lowered the price and targeted job shops.

Well, you could buy it and then test out that business model...just sayin' though so may "job" shops skimp on a computer, machines and tooling that even at half-price I don't think that market share would be that substantial.

Here's the single biggest thing that rubs me raw on the software....the g'damn installation.

The installation of Vericut is a complete klusterf^ck....I was floored that for the cost of the software that the installer is a bit of a joke..

When I need to copy files into folders manually, that is messed up.

What part of the installation requires you to do that? I've never had to do that at all?

JP makes a good point. Job Shops would still moan at half the price. But larger companies might take on more licenses.

The cost vs benefits of the software certainly make it viable, especially with the security that it provides.

The thing with the force module is they know if you are looking to buy it you have an application and its simple math on how much money it can save you so they charge accordingly.

I started making more money as a business when I changed my mentality from what does it cost me to whats it worth to you. This is clearly an example of them knowing its value so until a competitor comes across with similar results at a discounted price they have a license to mint money here...

I installed 9.4 and then 9.5....

Yes, even though I selected it, the Mastercam chook did not install into the folder...had to copy & paste into the chooks folder...

Tried to uninstall 9.4....it won't uninstall...one of my guys contacted support, they told him it was OK to just delete it....it broke his 9.5 and he had to reinstall it again...

Both times have been an adventure
