I can see how that would happen. When you have a formula people like, ride it out I guess.

I saw the movie "The Terminal List" and liked it so I thought I'd give that a try first. Maybe afterwards I'll switch to the first book of "Reacher", then just go from there.

I was just thinking today, I always enjoyed the "Dune" movies so maybe that will be in my future too.

At least the first one!

That does look interesting. Non-fiction. I like reading world war 2 stories.

I really don't know anything about it Larry, but he was high on it so thought I would share it. I wish I read books like you guys but don't think much about it.

I'm a big fan of the first two Dune books; especially the first one. there is a lot that got left out of the movie naturally. They're not exactly light reading but there's a reason they're still making movies from them.

It also has a pretty intense middle and end.

There are legitimate criticisms of his books, but I've never heard 'boring' get mentioned.

After finishing "The Terminal List" there was an offer to try Amazon unlimited for 99 cents a month for 2 months. After that it's like 12 bucks a month.

Can't hurt to try so I signed up. There are supposedly millions of books to choose from but I couldn't find the next Jack Carr book which was irritating.

I did find a book by Jack Slater callex "Dark State" that is in the same genre and it's pretty good.

Yeah, the big name, best seller type stuff is not on there.

I read some of the Jack Slater stuff and liked it.

Another good author with tons of stuff on there is L.T. Ryan.

some classics

With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa by Eugene Sledge  .. true story.. the HBO Series, The Pacific was based on this book.

Battle Cry by Leon Uris... it's a novel, Uris was a Marine in the Pacific

From Here to Eternity and The Thin Red Line by James Jones   both are novels, James Jones was an Army combat veteran

I doubt any of these are on Kindle Unlimited.. but they are 50 to 60 years old so the Kindle version shouldn't be expensive.

Also check out Tom Burkhalter, he did a series on the Army Aircorp in the Pacific.
They should be available on Kindle Unlimited

Just finished the 2nd Jack Slater book and started the third.

Not great but pretty good. And I'll say this for the guy; he's not afraid to go BIG!
