I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I'd ask Del if he's ever been poor, but I don't know that it would make a difference.

I've lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with 7 people, my bedroom was a walk in closet. We picked cockroaches out of our cereal before we ate it. I was 9 years old. If only we had paid more taxes.

I have woken up completely broke with over a $100,000 in debt and had to ask my daughter to cash in her Savings Bonds for gas money. You know nothing about me

So if you understand what it is to struggle, do you really condemn the poor for paying no taxes? Or why would you bring that up?

I never said I condemned the poor for paying no taxes. I said I didn't care if they paid taxes. You liberals spin everything to stir outrage.

But you also understand that is what makes you Hypersensitive.

Not the reality(Even tho you lived it.) most people can fathom.

I cannot understand to your depth what the loss of vision in one or both of my eyes.

I can empathize, but it is just not the same.

sometimes having the experience cripples our viewpoint. Sometimes it enhances it.

I disagree with some of your viewpoints but also admire your strength.

It's not hypersensitivity. It's an experience. If you get kicked in the balls you know that you don't want to be kicked in the balls again.

Your comment was "the poor pay no taxes".  I was wondering what the point of that comment was.  If I misunderstood, apologies.

Quote from: neurosis on March 28, 2025, 11:46 AMIf we're talking about cuts, you're talking about starting at a net-zero and then adding incentives. Those "cuts" don't trickle down. (I hate that term) Your argument here isn't making sense to me because tariffs are the opposite. You're starting at net-zero and then adding tax. If you want to ask me why a tax increase wouldn't be passed on to the customer, I'd agree with you. It would.

Here is a detailed study of what happens after a tax cut. I do think that there is a net benefit to the workers when a tax cut happens. while upper management salaries may increase, a tax cut usually follows with more hiring, which over a longer term leads to higher wages. So while it may not be immediate, it certainly does provide benefit. And I've seen it over and over again, that the places I've worked, when taxes were cut, which are usually in the form of, if you buy new equipment, you can get a tax rebate, it leads to us being busier than we were before. And busy companies are much easier to get a raise from than companies that are cash strapped.

You said who would I rather see paying taxes, those that could afford it or those that can't afford it. I said the poor pay no taxes which means your statement about the poor paying taxes is moot. Half the country pays no federal income taxes or close to it. I'm not against that.

I worked at place here in Wichita that clung to the stereotype of no raises for the workers but the bosses wife always had an expensive new car. I'm sure the benefits of a tax cut would never leave their office.
