Quote from: CNCAppsJames post_id=8656 time=1616447040 user_id=62I have not changed my opinion even after I got it. It's an individual choice for each person based on their own personal set of circumstances.

All of us should not have to live our lives as though we are all high risk. That is completely absurd.

Young and healthy have extremely low odds of getting sick, however, most youngins have parents and grandparents. Its more for protecting those they may expose (should they contract The Virus).

Glad you got The Vax. Work related?

I got COVID... in January. I've had colds that kicked my ass harder to be honest. I'm NOT taking the COVID vaccine under ANY circumstances for ANY reason. My body, my choice. If somebody else wants to, cool for them. Go for it. Me; no thank you. I don't take the flu shot. I'm not taking this. COVID isn't polio. COVID isn't Small Pox. COVID isn't ANY of those things that would demand we shut down the planet, so no. If I contract it again at some point in the future and it kills me, whelp... I wouldn;t change a thing. I'll take dangerous freedom over peaceful tyranny every day that ends with "y" EVERY. F'N. DAY!

As I look back to a year ago; here we are 52+ weeks into the "2 weeks to flatten the curve" experiment. Where does it end? Easy. It doesn't. We've shown that we are more than willing to throw all common sense to the wind; and if we're not? We're branded as "science deniers", "grandma and grandpa killers" or worse. And it's complete and total bullshiite. Am I denying that people are dying/have died? No, of course not.

The fact of the matter at hand; a majority or people have allowed the powers that be to control every single aspect of our lives without even so much as a whimper. Evidence? PEOPLE THAT WEAR MASKS WHEN THEY ARE IN THEIR VEHICLES... ALONE! Thats' not science. That's not compassion. That's not common sense. That's stupidity. Pure, unadulterated, low two digit IQ, stupidity... and it's celebrated.

It looks like they'll only be a few of us sat together up on the hill, watching everything burn for the end of the world show

I'm not participating in any mass vaccination experiments either.
I will remain in the unvaccinated 'control group' and take my chances.
To those of you in the beta test group, and it IS a beta test group, good luck.

There's a pneumonia vaccine available.....do you take it in your 30's & 40's????    No, not likely.....

Do you take it as you get into your 50's & 60's?   Far more likely, as it can hit you much harder as you age and your body isn't as strong.....

DO you take this concoction as you age?   I think that's a "hell ya" as Covid has shown older people don't do well with it.  Now as you age, gain some weight and as far too many deal with today today have diabetes...it becomes a much stronger action to do so.

So no Jeff, no sheep. People are weighing the odds of getting sick, against the odds of getting extremely sick  if you do get it.

Yes, the hype of this thing is beyond way over the top....

Covid is however, real. It can and does kill people. It can and does keep people very ill, in hospitals for extended periods of time.

So I'm sure others, like myself weighed those options. Some decided to roll the dice, some decide to roll the dice and get the shot.

Who's right, whose wrong?  No one, we all made the choice to or not too

Is it actually a vaccine though? Or is it like the flu shot where it just lowers your chances of getting the flu...

^ 95% don't "catch it" with the Pfizer and Moderna vacs (mRNA). The 5% who can "catch it" have no risk of dying or suffering in a hospital.

Like JP said, I'll turn 57 in a little over a week. Have type 2 diabetes. We have these two kickass vaccines now (the technology was developed over the past 15 years... so this isn't the 'blind test' some have suggested).

So, I got it. No side effects from 1st shot. Arm a little sore, hardly notice it.

So this girl in the front office said today "I don't know if I'll get it. I'm concerned if there are any long term effects." ,.................... she wears a mask and gloves ALL DAY. Had a mask on in the car!

So, OK. Don't get vaccinated and just wear gloves and masks all day. Yeah. To each his own.

Or do we avoid all vaccines? Polio? Small pox? Measles? Etc, etc.? We live in a time medical breakthroughs are happening at an accelerated rate. Biotechnology with exciting gene tech advances. Lives are being prolonged. Compare surgeries today vs. the 1800's... Or vaccines (in those days you got the live virus).

Yes it is.
This is the first mass use of mRNA vaccines ever.
mRNA vaccines were not approved until COVID came along, and coincidentally the drug companies got a pass on liability.
Call me skeptical, but I'm not buying it.

OK so get vaccinated and be the lab rat for Uncle Sam and the WHO. Yeah. To each his own.

Who says you have to wear a mask and gloves all day?
The zero credibility CDC?
Dr. Fauci lied to your face and you still believe him?
Good luck with all that.

^ Well,... my co-worker in his mid 40's caught COVID. 5 days in the hospital. 2-3 months later still has breathing issues. Doctor can't say if it is permanent. COVID can damage lungs. X-rays showing damage. Myles Garrett (Browns star DE) is 25 and in 'good shape' *cough no chit! It kicked his ass. Had to take breathing treatments. You could see it affected his play when he came back.

Most are fine. Some die. Some had long term health issues.

I'll take my chances.

Me being in my early 50's, healthy, don't drink a whole lot, good weight for my age and frame... could stand a few more pounds of muscle but I'm working on it... it sure is a little harder to gain muscle mass after your 40's, and it's ALWAYS been hard for me, but I digress. I get a cold maybe once a year. Twice if I REALLY travel a lot in the winter, and every couple of years I get a cold severe enough I can't work (remotely). Flu maybe twice in 8 years on average. I am in NONE of the categories that put me at any great risk of death from ANY of these things the nannies are trying to protect me from.

MY reality is I am probably going to die from a cancer or an accident of some sort (automobile or even possibly air)... and I'm a peace with that.

That would not be my recommendation. I think we vaccinate for things perhaps we shouldn't though. HPV is a prime example. You know how you don't get HPV? Don't have sex before marriage. HPV is a lifestyle choice vaccine, it shouldn't be mandatory but it's going that route. Two of my kids waited until they got married. One went to a public university and the health folks there were routinely putting SERIOUS pressure on her to 1) get on the pill and 2) get the HPV vaccine. She was an athlete and had regular health center visits per team spec. Anyway, shen told them she "...1) wasn't going to go on the pill until 6months before the wedding and 2) neither of them had had sex with anyone yet so there was no reason to take the vaccine." This greatly displeased the overlords and necessitated routine pressure from the higher-ups not just the PA's.

Chicken Pox... really? Do we really need a vaccine for that? I suppose if an older male hasn't had chicken pox yet, then it's probably advisable as it can cause sterility and other problems in older men. But if you've had it...

I just have a problem in general with the over-medication of society as a whole.

For years doctors gave anti-biotics for VIRAL infections. Useless. Common sense says that... but :cough: science :cough: AND as if they've never been wrong before, and/or they'll never be wrong again. I just think we owe it to ourselves to question stuff. I'm not saying get all WebMD or dogmatic or anything but just fucking ask a question. "Hey doc, are your REALLY sure I 'NEED' that? Are the side effects going to be worse that what we're trying to treat?" I mean have you ever listened to the ads on tv when they tell you the list the possible side effects? My gosh...

Oh, and now we've got super bugs that we can't kill. Thanks a lot. All because somebody had to have a pill or a doctor had to prescribe something.

Chicken pox was fairly tame if you were a toddler to young teens, but not always.  Newborns could really struggle with it, adults as well, or anyone with a weakened immune system.  Plenty of instances of scarring, or pneumonia, infections of various organs.

And you're thinking of Mumps causing fertility issues in males, although that's pretty rare....and there's a shot for that too!

I could be getting the effects for each confused. But the point being people with immune issues usually know they have them and should do what they need to. The rest...of us should have choices.
