Real ID identification

On May 7 a "Real ID" is required to board commercial aircraft, access federal government facilities, and a few other more uncommon things. An article in the local newspaper suggests fewer than half the people in Missouri have their "Real ID."

Is everybody here prepared?

Same here. They've been kicking the implementation of the "Real ID" down the road for years now so I guess I'm surprised so many people still haven't got it done yet.

Then you get an RFID driver's license? Will you need that to vote too? I thought this was a digital ID thing when I first heard about it, but it seems pretty tame if they just want proof of address to get a card, no? We have had to do this process for decades to get new gov issued IDs, CAD citizens that is. If you float over on a shipping container or borderwalk into MTL with your designer luggage you're faced with much less scrutiny and they hand out health cards like M&Ms.

It was created because shitholes like Kommieforniastan giving IDxs to illegal aliens, then giving that same form of ID out to citizens as the default... so they can't travel, can't buy firearms,  etc... Some states followed suit.

Should have never been allowed to happen in the first place.

I know people who never fly anywhere, and have decided it wasn't worth the trouble or what they consider to be intrusiveness.

when I got mine, I took a day off work to go get it renewed, waited in line for an hour only to find out that they wouldn't except my birth certificate because it came from the hospital where I was born rather than the state. I had no idea. I had used the birth certificate for everything up until that point. I had to go to a local HHS to apply for a new birth certificate. that took a couple of hours. then went back to the original line and waited another hour. It was frustrating at the time, but it's done now.

To the best of my knowledge I don't, however knowing the absurdity The People's Republik of Kommieforniastan puts people through when they don't want you to have something, I can imagine people just don't want to be bothered with all the extra effort unless it's absolutely necessary.

For me, when I lived in that shithole, I was pissed because I signed up for "Real ID" because I buy firearms, I travel... A LOT, and I conceal carry, but they sent me their fake ID instead. Even though my paperwork stated I was to get a Real ID. It took a few weeks and more paperwork. Sucked because I missed out on a smoking deal on a Desert Eagle 50 I've always wanted. Friend of mine was selling his... needed the cash. Fuckin' commies. I tried... brought my Passport (address wasn't current, birth certificate (my ORIGINAL birth certificate was not accepted because "it didn't meet current birth certificate standards". My birth certificate was from when I was a junior in High School and the Country of Los Angles just printed them out on regular paper and stamped them with special ink to make them official (purple I think)... well the ink was faded and wasn't purple anymore. So I missed out,  and DMV required me to get a new Birth Certificate before they would issue me a Real ID.

Fuck those kommies!

I had the same issue with the CA birth certificate purple stamp thing and was mildly frustrated, but your kommie-laden, smoke coming out of the ears, spittle comming out of the mouth Nutboy rant made it all worth it. Hell, when I renew my "Republik of Kommieforniastan" DL this summer I'm gonna tip the person behind the counter twenty bucks just knowing that it was them or one of their "komrades" that caused you so much hassle.

We (country) voted against all the electronic shit years ago in the UK. Dead against it.
But Goobermint push has nudge nudge nudged it bit by bit - electronic driving licence with photo etc.
But living here in Spain we had no choice - mandate to do it and we all have our unique Gov issued identification number (called NIE). Whenever we purchase anything, we have to enter the number and when it gets delivered, the parcel company takes the number.
All part of track and trace like good little cattle....

If you can't enter a federal building w/o a Real ID, does that automatically dismiss you from serving jury duty in a federal court?
