was surprised about that - I thought the market liked gridlock. Maybe not gridlock during record inflation / potential recession

He was appointed.
Anyone that truly believes that 81 million people voted for that pedophile is a moron.

I don't think Trump got near that many votes

Right now gridlock means more of the status quo which is not favorable to the markets.

The markets do not like uncertainty. Right now we are a ruderless ship with a senile captain. We'll have to see how it all shakes out. I do know that gassing up your car and heating your home this winter is going to be tough for a lot of people.

Because propaganda is effective as hell these days.

So not a Guru

Quote from: BrianP. on November 09, 2022, 09:56 AMNope not sensitive. Just have seen enough of your posts to know that for you it's a rhetorical question as you have already made up your mind as to the answer.
Yep, I've never noticed noticed any of that kind of behavior from the right-leaning folks in this forum. :sofa:

I'd settle for stop the mass early voting, voting by mail, ballot harvesting, ballot drop boxes, and simple voter ID laws. :coffee:

Do things like Florida did.

Places like AZ, NV, Kali that can't even count votes in a timely manner create, at the very least, the perception of corruption and the possibility of "the steal".

We need a simple, transparent system we can trust.

Both parties now tell us EVERY election is life or death. We are voting for the very future of democracy EVERY time we go to the polls. If this is true, how am I supposed too believe they wouldn't cheap if they could? Hell, if I actually believed this shit, I'd cheat too. If you believe the other side is "literally Hitler", don't you have a moral obligation to cheat?

We just had our democrat county clerk get in trouble for the way she handled ballots in the last election. Someone found security footage of her entering the room where ballots are stored, alone. The rules are only two people can go in there at a time, one from each party. The door has two locks with a R key and D key. How'd she get the R key? Why did she go in alone?

I know this woman personally. She has been a friend of my family for 20+ years. She is a decent person and a patriotic American. But I also know she believes everything that the Democratic party leadership and CNN tells her. Whatever she was doing in that room, I have no doubt she thought she was doing the right thing. Protecting her country and community from the horrors of Republicans in power.

I think "global warming" has been preached enough that more than half the world thinks we have caused the ice melting even though the ice melting then ice forming is part of a 100,000 year cycle that has happened many many times. It's hard to believe that people are stupid enough to think that we can manipulate the Earth to what we deem is the correct environment. The sun and the Milky Way are the manipulators and the sooner that people relies this the better off we'll be.

With the economy as it is, there is not a single reason the Dems should have come out of it this well, yet they did..

In my mind, small as it may be I guess, it's done, it's over, it will not tilt right again, it may tilt back a bit but the die is cast IMNSHO.

We're done are the "America" in which many of us grep up and remember.  Sadly, people are celebrating that..

Well, if there was a shred of credible evidence there was any meaningful fraud going on I'd be behind that but there's not.

The early voting, the vote by mail, and ballot drop boxes work very well and encourage participation, which is the main thing we need in this country, imho.

Now if you got a whole bunch of people who are gonna believe their orange god when he claims voter fraud without a shred of evidence I don't think we need to do anything to appease those people. Because the only thing that will appease them is if their orange god says there wasn't any voter fraud. And at this point even that probably won't work.

As far as ballot harvesting, if it's legal in the state then both sides do it.

I've shown my ID when I vote for decades. I wonder which states don't have that requirement?

If you really want to know, it's easy enough

If it's important, you'll get it done.
