Why am I not surprised?
QuoteNEW: The French Laundry got more than $2.4M in federal funding intended for small businesses, per @SBAgov data

That's 17X more than what the average Bay Area full-service restaurant received.

Quote from: YoDoug post_id=344 time=1608153044 user_id=58Today he announced restaurants can open outdoor seating with 50% capacity....... in MN, in December. What a joke. Who is going to eat outside in MN in Dec.

F'kin morons don't even realize how f'kin stupid they sound.

Here's a novel idea...
Why not leave businesses open, and LET THE PEOPLE decide whether to go there or not?
You scared of the Rona?  Stay home.
You not scared of the Rona?  Enjoy responsibly.
Ya know...I think they used to call it "FREEDOM" or sumfin'... :harhar:

Seems like it shouldn't be any more complicated than that, but here we are with a bunch of power hungry tinpot dictator Governors who don't get it.

Enjoying responsibly means staying home.

How would you rate someone who believes they have the freedom to shoot a gun off into the air near a city?  Their chance of hitting someone is very slim, the chance of killing someone even slimmer.  Yet it's a selfish, inconsiderate, and dangerous thing to do, because they're risking other people's health and lives without sufficient justification.

I subscribe to an online app called Nextdoor which is made up of people in my immediate neighborhoods

This morning local first responders and hospital staff are reporting they are receiving the vaccination.
Hopefully things will go well for them.

When Trump said Americans would be getting CV-19 vaccinations before Christmas the whole world laughed and sneered and mocked him.
He made it happen though

Credit where credit is due.  Thousands of people worked to make it happen.

It's like when you bust your butt over the weekend time and again to get the parts out and the CEO that you haven't seen in months takes all the credit.

Trump didn't do the actual work, but he did fast track the process, made the $$$ available
and told a million DC bureaucrats the STFU and get out of the way

Apples to oranges.
Governors arbitrarily shutting down businesses are hurting the economy and costing people their jobs.

Your silly gun shooting analogy doesn't cover that.

Nothing.
You obviously never worked at a job that required you to live off of your tips.
Many of these restaurants that have been reduced to takeout only have had their income drastically cut, their staffs drastically reduced, and their tips drastically reduced for the few employees left.

It's not nearly as simple as your simple question implies, but feel free to keep ranting about shit you clearly don't even understand.
There are SEVERAL family owned restaurants in my area that are literally going out of business because of our Governor's stupid three week shutdown on top of the previous shutdown.

Ok, how about if I had a business operating a shooting range where you pay me to shoot at drone targets flying overhead.  Would it be a stupid government overreach to shut me down and hurt my profits?

I live in a pretty rural area. Most of the decent eating is 30 minutes from our house. This poses 2 problems for takeout. The first is we often eat out while we are running other errands in those areas. We will go eat dinner first, then do our shopping. The second is a lot of different foods lose their quality during a 30 minute drive home. Anything that is crispy with a sauce is soft and mushy by the time you get home.

Just tell them not to cook the Veggies, That will keep them Crisp. LOL!!

If the CEO gave the directive to push Operation Warp Speed then he would deserve some of the credit.

That's the same as your last failed analogy but with flying targets involved.

You didn't answer my question.  Would it be government overreach to shut me down, hurting my profits and those of my employees?  Or would it be appropriate to say I can't endanger people for profit?

You didn't ask me a question.
That's a different thread
Regardless, your second analogy didn't change the scenario except for the flying targets.
