Since the defund the cops movement started getting stronger last year violent crimes have skyrocketed in the Minneapolis area. Things like armed car jackings are now multiple everyday occurrences. This morning, an off duty police officer on, her way to work, in her personal vehicle, had an attempted carjacking. Imagine the outcries if things got out of hand and she had to end up defending herself... :wallbash:

Thankfully she was able to speed away

It's hard for police to be effective law enforcement when they act like a gang of violent thugs.  They're undermining themselves by their behavior.

Federal judge grants restraining order stopping Minnesota law enforcement from arresting, using force against journalists:

Considering there are nearly 700,000 law enforcement officers in the US, if there were 50 occurrences a day (Which I think would be a high estimate to your hearing of a new one every single day), that would make 18,000/year or only 2-1/2% annual rate.  using your number of 1 per day would be .05% Annual rate.  It seems occasional to me...  JM2C

And now you know why. You NEVER, EVER approach and try to intervene when an officer if doing their thing. They can't take any risks with their own life.

What an idiot. He deserved whatever he got. Should have just pulled out his phone and began filming because we need more zero context police videos on the interwebz.

So approaching and talking to an officer warrants a hospital visit now?  Several minutes of beating while restrained.  Please explain to me how that's necessary to ensure officer safety.

Yep, I know where you stand.  Any violence an officer commits is automatically justified because the victim should have known better than to ask an officer to act humanely.

And I'm sure the press should have known better than to try to report on the protests, so they deserved pepper gas and rubber bullets just for being there.

If the police are arresting someone, and they tell you to stand back, but you don't do as they say.... you're god damn right. They can't take that risk.

BTW, did you miss the part that I made larger specifically for you?  Here, let me reiterate it for you..... ATTEMPTED TO INTERVENE. But your spin makes it sound like he was asking the officer about the weather.

Is there a video of that interaction?  The guy who got pummeled seems to be the only one talking.

"attempted to intervene" could mean anything from being verbal to trying to pull the cops off of protesters.

Ok, just to be clear here, you believe that if I walk up to an officer and ask him to go easy on someone, that warrants the officer beating me for several minutes until I require hospitalization.  You believe that's a justified use of force.

Can't find a video, but here's the account:

QuoteAs he stood at the entryway, Kwart noticed two officers arresting a protester who had been pepper-sprayed and injured. Kwart approached and attempted to intervene, telling officers, "Go easy," and "Please relax." An officer then turned on Kwart and shoved him back with his riot shield.

The two officers were then joined by Officer Stephen Anouti and another unnamed officer who charged at Kwart and tackled him to the ground, the complaint states. With Kwart now on the ground, Anouti held Kwart's head to the ground and ground it into the pavement before another officer began to punch him in the face repeatedly, as Kwart was placed in zip ties, video of the incident shows, according to the complaint.

So we have four officers holding the guy down, grinding his face into the pavement, and beating him for several minutes in retaliation for spoken words.
