Here is another article on gut bacteria and it's relation to the immune system. Take note of the paragraph about bad gut bacteria weakening vaccine effectiveness. Humans are all different from a gut biome standpoint. The starting point for a vaccine is different for each person. That is why we are seeing varying results from the Covid vaccines. A diet that is full of plant based whole foods will be rich in fiber that promotes the growth of healthy bacteria. A diet full of meat/dairy/processed foods will promote the growth of unhealthy bacteria. For me personally, making a targeted effort to improve my gut bacteria was what finally allowed me to get off of daily heartburn medication. I took specific blends of probiotics and added lots of plant fiber to my diet. Now I can eat the hottest of sauces in a meal and not get heartburn.

Nothing feels worse than realizing that you're starting to have a hard time breathing and not knowing how far it's going to go.

Not impressed. Do a search for covid smokers paradox.

Smokers paradox refers to a study that proposed that nicotine in the lungs blocks the receptors that Covid attaches to. It is not about the immune system.

Wednesday of last week a leader of my recovery group tested negative so he lead a meeting that night. The next day he found out that it was a false negative and he actually had covid. There were maybe 30 or 40 people there the night before. I found out today that a member of the group died. He went in the hospital yesterday and passed this morning. He was a construction foreman in his late 40s or 50s. There is another who is sick with it. The meeting leader never showed symptoms.

You post an independent thought here and you get the same treatment.

Quote from: neurosis post_id=15046 time=1630081711 user_id=49I guess it depends on your definition of "works".   In Washington State, 96 percent of hospitalizations from convid are unvaccinated.  Something like 98% of deaths are.

It's hard to ignore those statistics unless, as yodoug keeps saying, you're low risk to begin with.

And who came up with those stats? The same people who have lied to you in the past? I'm not saying they did, I'm just asking.

Kinda like when I go to the store masked up after the mask mandate was removed. The same asshole giving me the stink eye at the store today is the guy who was wearing a mask yesterday. How soon we forget.

I hope you recover quickly and fully, Neuro.

Not perfect by any stretch, but a lot better than yesterday.  I slept for 15 hours last night.. Went to bed at 5 and got up at 8am.

And don't hesitate to go to the ER to get a chest Xray for pneumonia. There are lots of cases of people feeling better for a few days, then taking a nose dive. They develop pneumonia and don't realize it until it's severe. The sooner it's treated, the better.

I don't know if I've had Covid or not. I've never felt that I have had it but also not been tested. I thing that might in my favor is the four supplements that the CDC recommended for Covid I've been taking for many years. Does that give me an advantage? Who knows.

I thought that I had it earlier this year.  I never got tested. Judging by my experience yesterday I don't think that's what I had.

I had a dry cough Tuesday.  I get allergies so never thought much of it.  Wednesday I had a deep lung cough. I made an appointment to get tested and took the day off of work.  By Thursday I felt like I was going to die (over dramatic, but felt like I'd inhaled a hand full of fiberglass and could barely breathe) and came back with a positive test.  Over night it dissipated to a head cold and the lung stuff went away.

I hope you get better soon, the new israeli study found that infection offers stronger protection, so hopefully you will be good for a while?

Thats what happened to one of my friends.  He was sick for about a week and thought that he was getting better. He ended up with pneumonia and was in the hospital for a week.  Scary to think about.

Are the able to tell you which variant of Sars-Covi2 or other Coronavirus it is, or is the test very general?
