This has been one of my peeves with all of the theories being pushed. There just isn't much logic to some of them.

The "otherwise healthy" is a very misleading statement for a lot of people. A few years ago when I was 40 lbs heavier, didn't work out, and ate crappy all the time, I thought I was "otherwise healthy". My numbers were not bad enough for my doctor to put me on any meds, although he did warn me. I was fooling myself and probably would have thought I wouldn't be at risk for Covid type serious complications. It is not uncommon to hear about a guy that looked "otherwise healthy" having a heart attack and dying in the gym or shortly after a workout. I think it is a human coping mechanism that we compare ourselves to people that we feel are worse than us as means to not truly examine our own status. I think men are even more prone to do it because of the delicate male ego. We do not want to have to consider ourselves weak or unhealthy.

On a side note we do this with strength and fighting/self defense skills. At BJJ/MMA it is all to common to hear people after sometime of training admit that they really thought they could "handle" themselves in a fight, only to start sparring and grappling in class and realize how off their assessment was. It was a real eye opener for me.

I am not against the vaccines, I'm against forced vaccines for everyone. There is good data out there that shows who is most at risk. Multiple studies have shown that 90%+ Covid deaths have a handful of comorbidities; obesity, heart disease, diabetes, CAD, cancer, etc. Age also plays a factor. Anyone that knows they fall into one or more of those categories should, IMO, get the vaccine. If you have not had a good physical and bloodwork recently and are not sure if you fall into one of those, get a check up.

I would like to see more actual data on long Covid. All I ever see are scare stories in left leaning media that talk about one or a few people with long Covid. I never see actual peer reviewed studies that can draw statistics, risks, etc. My wife is only just recently starting to get her sense of smell and full taste back. She had Covid last November. She hasn't had any other lingering symptoms that she is aware of. It would be nice to see real data on other issues she should be looking out for.

She actual says she found the loss of smell to be a blessing. Prior to Covid she had a crazy sense of smell, she could smell the faintest smells, and with my love of spicy foods we were often at odds. More moderate smells would often give her migraines. After Covid she has not had a migraine since. Her loss of taste has worked well for me because I like to cook spicy foods. I could make things spicy which she normally didn't like, but she would try it and if I made it spicy enough she would say she thinks she could taste it a little.

Doing quite a bit better today.  I don't think that I've slept so much in my life.  I've been averaging about 15 - 18 hours of sleep for the last six nights in a row.. lol.  I'm starting to feel lazy.  The two things I cant seem to kick is the lack of appetite and my head is still super foggy.  Kinda like having a week long hangover.

I'm going to get a test tomorrow and then another some time this weekend. I've been keeping track of my blood oxygen level and temp and both have been fine so I think I may be on the way to recovery.

It's not just conspiracy theories that are misleading. Take the article below. He contradicts himself repeatedly. He leads with the scare that 18-49 year old are the fastest growing rate of hospitalization, but then a few paragraphs later says in MN Delta cases in vaccinated are 30%+ of the cases. He claims that the previous underlying conditions are no longer who is in danger but offers no stats to back it. Also he states people 65+ have the highest vaccination rates in MN, however with 30%+ new cases being those vaccinated, He doesn't disclose any info on what % of hospitalized/serious condition are those that were previously vaccinated (65+) and/or have the previously risk increasing underlying conditions. No mention of the studies that show natural immunity from anti-bodies from a previous Covid infection are believed to be as adequate or greater than with the vaccine. I'm getting to the point that unless the article/story posts links to Pubmed published, reviewed studies, I don't trust it.

Russia and China are behind a lot of the misinformation campaigns. It is in their benefit to have the USA fighting each other.

This article is just another left wing media BS scare piece. Ivermectin has been used for a long time to treat certain conditions in humans. Yes, the dosages for a horse are probably not safe for humans, also there is not much evidence to believe that Ivermectin will work against a virus. However this article is written to scare you into thinking there are no effective treatments and that every single person on earth needs to go get vaccinated and then go home and hide in fear of Covid.

Also, Joe Rogan is a simple minded idiot. He routinely spouts off one size fits all blanket statements that are not real world realistic. He says crap like if you are poor it's because you want to be without any recognition of the different circumstances in life that everyone faces. He really just comes off as an out of touch, insensitive, a-hole.

Here is some info from Israel on Covid cases in fully vaccinated people. My question is, if the vaccines are starting to look very ineffective, what is the scientific rational that a third booster will fix that?

Those are interesting stats. I wish it broke down symptomatic vs Asymptomatic.  Because Israel requires every person who came in contact with a positive case to be tested symptomatic or not. so there could be a large majority of those people who contracted the virus, but because of the vaccine exhibited no symptoms.
