I spent about 5 years in Colorado before joining the USMC and didn't mind the cold
My 4 years in the service were places that were usually hot
North Carolina (nasty summers, surprisingly cold winters)
Okinawa  100° humidity 24/7/365.. absolutely fn'ing miserable 24/7/365
Okinawa gave me a new and profound respect for the people who served in Vietnam
as Nam is a 1000 mile closer to the equator and much hotter.
Oki was an R&R destination for the guys in Nam.

finally SoCal..
I discharged from USMC in late November and went back to Colorado
I was staying at my grandfather's place and had a job interview lined up
Went out to my car to discover it had been buried by a snowplow
I rescheduled the interview, dug out the car and went back in to change
into dry clothes and get warmed up
When I came back out, the snow plow had been by and the car was buried again.
I dug it out and drove back to California.

You might want to try whole food grocery if you want that foo foo shit.

Do they even have whole food in Texas? :headscratch:

Happily you can find vegemite and marmite on Amazon.

We have a few PanAsia stores around KC but I don't recall an Australian section there.

Landed yesterday, here for three months.  Once I'm settled, I'll see who's nearby for a catch up.

I saw where Whole Foods will no longer buy Gulf of Maine lobsters as 2 environmental groups claim it is dangerous for the right whales that I've never heard of. Not a documented case of such in last 150 yrs.

Good. Next time I am in Maine, we go a few times a year, lobster will be cheaper. We usually go to a seafood market up the road and buy lobster meat by the pound. Claws and tails all out of the shell. We've paid anywhere from 30-50 a pound. It's a treat for us. Last time almost 80 a pound. Phuk that. We don't deserve that good of a treat. 😁
