Quote from: mkd on December 09, 2022, 09:51 AMand they have a hydrogen car model on the road. They are unaffordable to buy and TOYota loses money on every one and the fuel is stupid to buy as a consumer. And that is for the dirty generated hydrogen. the green hydrogen is untouchabl;e on pricing.
why don't you drive toyota's current offering, if you're such a believer?

edit, btw, i'm not buying an EV because they are overpriced atm. Tesla makes 8x more profit per car than Toyota which explains to some degree why the market cap is that much higher
I do. I drive a Toyota Camry and Tacoma.

didn't know they had hydrogen power across all the popular models. I stand corrected.

They're both gasoline vehicles. I'll wait on the hydrogen models until I know they're proven out.

this is the current problem, extracting the hydrogen, not efficient. But as with the EV, they will research and try to improve. I know that Rolls Royce is already testing a hydrogen jet engine..

Honestly, I would probably buy a tesla but I don't think I am ready for the lifestyle change!

So what's the overall efficiency when half the Hydrogen leaks out?

The Camry gets lonely so I tow it around with the Tacoma.

Went to a Christmas party last night that one of my friends hosted.  We went out in the garage to grab some more drinks and I noticed his car, It was the new KIA EV6.  It was pretty sweet, the dashboard was pretty wild.

Toyota, the MOST indebted company in the world, has it's financials cratering badly.
Japanese gov't will need to bailout.
Government Motors; same

A 310 mile range is very respectable. I'm still not sure the infrastructure is there to take off on a road trip but that's a nice commuter vehicle.

Yeah, but he showed me that as soon as he turns on anything like radio or heat and air it drops to somewhere to around 270.
As far as infrastructure, he had no home charger and there are only a few fast chargers in town. As soon as he dropped me off on the far west side he was going to the east side to charge. He said it takes 30 minutes to charge the battery to 80% and costs about $30. He said you're not supposed to charge them to 100%.

That kinda kills all the incentive, doesn't it?
