Well it wasn't nearly as bad here as they thought.

We only got about an inch of snow, then some freezing rain later that made the roads a bit slick.

We got about 4-5 inches overnight....now it's sleeting on top of it...

Heard the plow come by at around 5am. I went out and cleared 5-6 inches from the driveway. Just as I was finishing the plow cam be again so I fired up the snow blower again and cleared the end of the driveway and did our friends across the street. He finished clearing his driveway and went inside before the plow came by again. Then I went in and showered and got ready for work. By the time I left at 6:45, there was another 3 inches or so in the driveway.

It's been raining pretty good here for a couple of days.
I had to break out a sump pump to drain the front patio.
The previous owner walled it in with a brick wall and the drainage
system he installed is not adequate for heavy rain.
The water can't get high enough to get in the house, but it does get
high enough to drown Mrs Gcode's collection of plants.

It actually snowed here for about an hour this afternoon.
I've lived in Cali since 1977 and today was the first time I've seen snow.
They were huge flakes, the size of a quarter and bigger.
The temperature was 38° so there was no accumulation, but it was still
pretty cool.
I was very happy today was Saturday and I didn't have to drive anywhere.

We have a line of strong thunderstorms heading our way around 8 or 9 tonight.

Makes me just a little happy that LA had more snow the other day than we had in northern Indiana.

Windy as hell here.  Steady 35 MPH

Was raining here this morning and at some point towards the end of my drive it turned to ice. The parking lot at work was an ice rink. It has warmed up a little since then and melted but from what I have heard there were quite a few ditched cars and spinouts.

Depending on what weather source you look at, we're getting 1-15" tonight.

"It'll be a dusting" is my normal response when discussing projected snow storm totals. Half the time I'm right. It seems the weatherman blows things out of proportion just as bad as most news networks.

Tornado warning here.  Heavy rains all morning.

I'm sheltered in bathroom.
