Fake news...

QuoteDenys Hutyk:

Those tools are very accurate, because the military industry needs very high accuracy and high precision in the production of different parts. It can be the parts for the ships, the parts for the aircraft, the different equipment and parts for missile systems, or even radio electronic equipment.

Or maybe this is all a ploy for the US Government to get the Russians locked into service agreements

Maybe it was ol' Geno's fault the Russians brought down an American Drone over the Black Sea yesterday?

There is WAY more info to this hit piece. Wait for it to come out... the retraction will be on the back page in 1 point font so get your scanning electron microscope out... if you want to know the truth.

Knowing the import/export business like I do,.. fuckin' idiot yellow "journalists". I hope Gene sues the shit out of those pieces of shit.

That story is 100% pure unadulterated bullshit.

Gene's a tax cheat not a commie sympathizer.

It's hard to find the statemet Haas released.
It seems to have a lot to do with F1 racing

Euroday

QuoteThe press release states the following: "On March 3, 2022, shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Haas Automation terminated its entire relationship with its sole independent distributor for Russia and Belarus, Abamet Management. Since that date, Haas did not sell or ship machinery, parts or software to Abamet or anyone else in Russia. This crucial fact was communicated to the PBS reporter prior to the airing of the article."

"Furthermore, when the company terminated its relationship with Abamet in March, Haas voluntarily canceled 50 machine orders placed by Abamet, even though those orders might have been permitted under current U.S. regulations. export controls and sanctions."

This sounds looks like a typical PBS hit piece filtered through their "I hate all things American" lens

At any rate, without a link to the Haas supply and service chain these machines are worthless.

Haas is a world wide organization, and I'm sure you can find parts of the black market, but keeping them running long term will prove impossible

A Haas built fuel dump valve on a Mig 27 Flanker malfunctioned dumping a tank of fuel on the drone,
knocking it out of the sky

Didn't just dump fuel, actually hit the propeller.

Here's the Official Haas Press Release for those interested in the truth instead of repeating lies.

Because some people just love to believe negative shit about people and things they don't like. Because it's PBS, people automatically give it credibility even when/if it is unwarranted. Because Gene is a tax cheat, therefore he breaks rules about Export restrictions. Because people are gullible and will believe ANYTHING they see or hear on the TV, or radio.

I find it interesting how far the cancel culture has gone. but do not believe anything till I can confirm. HAAS has an interesting business model going on. think some other tool builders have done similar. personally if i buy it, i own it and should be able to do what i wish, even eff it up. JM2C
A Haas machine did me good running my own business but if I could not fix it on my own that would have busted me. and they surely would have not come running to fix my machine considering a one man one machine shop with little chance to advance there business. they lost track of their focus IMHO.

A lot of builders us the "direct" business model and a lot use the "distributorship" model and some use a mix. Each one has it's plusses and minuses, merits and challenges.

To the best of my knowledge, you as an end user are free to buy parts from your local distributor (HFO - Haas Factory Outlet). You just have to know what to order which isn't always easy to ascertain. There are some exceptions. Warranty work MUST be performed by certified technicians (AFAIK). There are warranty implications for certain items if you choose to go your own route. Usually these are big ticket items ot electronic items.

That said, a CNC Machine IS an export controlled item. You are free to sell it to whomever, wherever you want. You're also free to be prosecuted and sit in prison should you elect to sell an export controlled item to someone in a restricted nation.
