Quote from: Smit on August 02, 2023, 11:19 AMOf course Mike Pence is a discredited RINO now.

He always was
Trump picked him as VP to get the Christian vote which didn't work out well at all.
Pense turned over private notes of private conversations with Trump to the DOJ.
He did not have to do that as no one but Pence even knew they existed.
He may feel he's done the right thing, but he has effectively ended his political career.
R's view him as a coward and backstabbing traitor, and Dem's view him as a Christian so he is pretty much done.

And here I sit.......politically homeless. I'm not sure I'll even vote again, to be honest.

The more I analyze everything and seeing how this is all playing out, that's exactly what I'm thinking at this point.

Politically, there is no place for me.

That alone should be reason enough for every independent and party line R to vote for Trump. He will seriously go scorched earth on all of the corrupt, out of control gov agencies. You want to clean house at the DOJ, FBI, CIA, FDA, NIH, etc. , elect Trump.

It's been that way for a long time.

The presidential election is a total farce now.
The local elections are worthy of voting for the most part and are frequently
must more relevant to your life than the Federal ones

Same here.
I live in a 1-party city inside of a 1-party county.

Local elections are a sad joke around here.

No but it adds to the frustration when good candidates for our city council or school board seats consistently lose 70/30.  :wallbash:

We have even had folks who switched party registration just to try to get their foot in the door.
But they seldom win, and when they rarely do win, they only ever get one term before the majority gets wise to them when they don't rubber stamp everything and maintain the status quo.

So yeah, it's beyond frustrating at times.

US Senate and Governor in most states as well. Anywhere that corrupt dems control the elections they can cheat however they want. Mail-in-steal, broken counting machine in R districts, etc.

The thing with dems is they play the long game and are good at incrementalism. You can bet they are working in blue controlled states to plant all the corrupt people they need in those large metro suburban red districts to steal enough US house seats to flip the house.

If the winners are winning 70/30 then it looks like they're representing their constituents the way the voters want them to.

That's kinda the way it's supposed to work isn't it?
