I think I beat this horse to death, brought it back to life, and then beat it to death again.   :bdh:

I blame Incog for provoking me with his "No I said "Show me"" talk.

It's not a matter of perspective. It's illegal. And the conversation was about Jacob Chansley/QAnon Shaman, not Trump. Some people on here seem to think that he was just sight seeing when he was actually inciting. Or at least that's what the police reported.

Here's video of Mr Chansley "inciting" as he entered the capitol. Sure looks like violent individual to me!

Neuro, did you know the officer that reported and testified against Chansley is now running for congress? Sounds more like Pelosi is giving him a little gift for his help in the "insurection"

Del.

That video alone should be enough to indict anyone seen in it.  Thanks for posting that.

So then in your eyes, the officer is a liar?  I suppose he was using that bull horn to carol?

From at least one of the photo's I saw, the officer he was seen talking to wasn't the guy running for Congress. The statement kept referencing an officer R.K.?

By the way, the "libtards" calling him the Qanon Shaman, I wonder why that is?

edit:  does anyone remember when the right was saying that he was an antifa plant?  "The 'Q Shaman' who stormed the Capitol is upset Trump supporters are claiming he's 'Antifa' in disguise"   Man how the narrative changes.

From the Statement of Offense:   "At approximately 2:16 p.m., the defendant and other rioters ascended the stairs to
the second floor to the Senate side of the U.S. Capitol building. In a clearing on the second floor,
the defendant and other rioters were met by a line of U.S. Capitol Police officers, instructing them
to peacefully leave the building. The defendant challenged U.S. Capitol Police Officer K. R. to let
them pass, ultimately using his bullhorn to rile up the crowd and demand that lawmakers be
brought out.

Only in Portland. :)

Quote from: neurosis on January 08, 2024, 02:35 PMI guess you could try to go stand outside of a cop shop and encourage people to throw rocks through the windows on a bullhorn and then use "I was just protesting" as a defense.  I'd like to know how that works out.

Google Portland. :)

I was Inciting You. ;D

Arrest me.

Jim at Gentex

He was 'asked to leave' and he didn't comply.
What usually follows that, when a police officer 'asks' you to do something and you don't comply?

There were numerous times when Chansley was all alone with two or more officers, and they still didn't arrest him.

So that means...

a) He wasn't doing anything illegal...or

b) The cops are incompetent cowards.

Anyone who entered that building was breaking the law whether they did it violently or not.

You could make that argument. They explained why in their reports.

After reading so much about that dude over the last couple of days I almost feel sorry for him. He sounds like an incompetent lunatic. Maybe it's just an act? He seemed to have several diagnosed mental disorders?

Get your facts straight.
It's actually a public building with areas that are open to the public and areas that are restricted.

QuoteCongressional Office Buildings
House Office Buildings (Cannon, Ford, Longworth, Rayburn)
Open to the public Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Doors close at 5:00 p.m. when House is in recess)

Senate Office Buildings (Dirksen, Hart, Russell)
Open to the public Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Doors close at 6:30 p.m. when Senate is in recess)

https://www.uscp.gov/visiting-capitol-hill/visitor-information/building-access-hours

So just setting foot inside is not illegal, but there is more to it.

The feds are also STILL harassing and prosecuting people who DID NOT enter the building, and were standing on the PUBLIC sidewalks, PEACEFULLY PROTESTING.

This is a political witch-hunt no matter how you spin it.

So you're saying that the public has the right to enter the Capitol building whenever they want?

"When it comes to the violations on Jan. 6, it is not relevant whether or not the U.S. Capitol is a public building," USCP said in a statement to WUSA9. "It was not open to the general public that day. First, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Second, because of the Joint Session of Congress. The rioters violated the law the moment they crossed the police line."

I don't know much about this, who  or why they are harassing people for just attending.  Have any specifics?
