Well, the multitudes who heard him speak ate fish; he even provided it.

So, since he fed fish to his followers he surely wasn't against it.

Quote from: Dan_AKA_ROY23 on March 21, 2024, 02:17 PMYes it does. It implies it so powerfully, you can be assured our resurrected Lord ate fish (and beforehand, as well).

(John 21) 9When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish that you have just caught." 11So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them.

15When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?"

^^^ Jesus ate fish.

Lol, if you can imply he did eat fish when it never says it then I can Imply God created us to be vegans.

Only 153 can 'do this':

153 = 1^3 + 5^3 + 3^3 = 1+125+27 = 153

(Just an observation)

Interesting that you bring up that number. The movie has a few bible scholars that talk about that number and it has a very different meaning.

If we can imply Jesus ate fish then we can imply the the first of the deadly sins, thou shall not kill, includes animals and that is why eating meat leads to poor health and untimely death.

(Luke 24:38-43) "Why are you troubled," Jesus asked, "and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39Look at My hands and My feet. It is I Myself. Touch Me and see—for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." 40And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

41While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 42So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish,c 43and He took it and ate it in front of them.

^ The disciples were having a bit of a faith crisis. Jesus assures them saying "touch my hands and my feet" and then to further demonstrate it was Him with a supernatural body...Jesus asked for something to eat and He ate (a piece of broiled fish).

What exactly are you saying, Doug? I don't get it.

(Gen. 18:1-2)1Then the LORD appeared to Abraham by the Oaks of Mamre in the heat of the day, while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent. 2And Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

^ 3 men (two angels and the pre-incarnate appearance of Christ)

It's a great study... Genesis chapters 18 and 19. It is so powerful! Search the web, read the chapters carefully. etc.

Anyway, the Lord ate the fattened calf Abraham prepared for Him and the two angels (they are angels, not men. Read from the beginning of chap. 19 and you'll see it.)

(Gen. 18:7-8) 7Meanwhile, Abraham ran to the herd, selected a tender and choice calf, and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. 8Then Abraham brought curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and he set them before the men and stood by them under the tree as they ate.

The culmination of this remarkable portion of scripture is found in verse 24 of chapter 19...

(Gen. 19:24) 24Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven.

^^^ Here in one verse we see two distinct Yahwehs. The physical Yahweh who appears to Abraham and the Yahweh "out of heaven". There are many other passages in scripture like this, describing Yahweh taking on temporary human form.

Please go see the movie and/or read the link I posted earlier today. When you do the research and hear what the scholars have to say, there is a real divide between Jesus's disciples and their accounts in the NT differ based on that divide.

The bottom line for me is that when we stand in front of the lord and ask him if Thou shall not kill doesn't apply to animals he will not agree. I do not believe he is ok with us killing any of his creation. He made concession for us to eat meat but as Genesis clearly explains, it was not his intention. Just like he made concessions to allow divorce, not his original intention. In Leviticus he gave strict rules on what meat could be eaten, then later declared all meat is clean, again concessions. Every step of the way God allowing us to do more was because of our failures as sinners. I'm saying while he allows us to do certain things, there is ample scripture to believe he doesn't like it or want it for us. Nor did he intend for us.
